Likes
- Location, Exposure, Mess Food of some hostels
- Placements - They are good as companies come here.
- Closeness to Railway Station and availability of hospitals and malls nearby.
Dislikes
- Cultural dominancy of Rajasthan due to 50% home state reservation.
- Neish and backward mentality of people. Discrimination on basis of a lot of things.
- Huge Academic Pressure and Inactiveness of Clubs
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is okay but there is a lot of academic load on students in the curriculum and some things are irrelevant. There should not be this much load on first year students. Overall this course is decently fine.
Placement Experience
Placements are good as this is a well reputated and eatablished college. Only final year students are eligible for placements and second & third year students are eligible for internships. Several big companies come here like Microsoft, Amazon etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The education fees for the entire year is 1.3 lakhs for general category, about 30-40 % for OBC & EWS students based on income certificates and no fees for SC/ST category students. The hostel & mess fee is same for all irrespective of caste or income. It is about 64 thousands a year. Since NITs already have a subsidized and comparatively less educationak fees so there is no fee relaxations based on academic performance. Relaxations depend only on caste/category or income levels for OBCs, EWSs, SCS & STs.
Campus Life
The campus life is good here as for any big college, there are several places in the campus to hang out. The time is enjoyable with your friends and also the location of the college is in the prime of the city Jaipur so all services are available nearby. Social aspects are average as there is a cultursl dominancy in all NITs due to 50% home state reservation (though I'm myself from Rajasthan lol). What I really do not like is that a lot of people have a very neish mentally and have certain wrong baises in them based on genders, caste, religion, creed, race etc. So the quality of the crowd in NITs is not that good compared to IITs and BITS but we can change people if u make them aware and really educate them. There are several clubs here, I'm myself part of some like CS Club and Think India Cultural Club. But the thing is that only s few like dance, drama and some more clubs are active & popular. Most of the clubs are for formally and are almost inactive so there can be improvements.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are normal like government colleges. Not so bad not so good, medium I'll say.The infrastructure in general is good but of some colleges is a bit bad and needs some renovation. Similarly, food & mess quality of some are good and some are bad. So there's a need for better management by the system. Registration process was easy via website of the college. Affordablity of hostel is also good.
Admission
Admission Process was okay and had a lot of verifications as there should be from Jossa for an established college. All the documents required were genuine and the cutoff for my branch for general category was 7100 rank in JEE Mains. Some things I didn't like in the admission process were a lot of mismanagement and time waste for students on the college on the day of physical reporting, they didn't make clear instructions for everything before. So it was a bit irritating. Bit over-all still it was fine.
