I like the environment the campus is situated in a country side
University has one of the largest library in Karnataka
The faculties and students are very kind to everyone

Dislikes

The climate of this area is not good for everyone
Campus is seems quite after 6 pm there is no night life
The campus situated a remote area which is difficult for students to reach city

Course Curriculum Overview

They provide good curriculum and better syllubus which covers most of the geology and oceanography topics especially physical and chemical oceanography, climatology, hydro geology and other topics but practically they seems little back they doesn't provide new instruments for surveying and oceanography they still following old techniques which is not relevantly used in this time

Class Size: 22Course Fees: INR 24000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

There is two schemes they were providing one is merit based and another is payment they categorised students based on marks and merit students get Course fee of 24000 and payment seat students has to pay 34000

Campus Life

The campus feels like quite peaceful I don't feel well enjoying campus life and other activities but we can make friends with lots of people in different states and different countries there are many foreign students studying there. Books are available in the college library.

Admission

I applied for post graduation through online portal of Karnataka higher education UUCMS website and i got admission for marine geology at mangalore university campus, marine geology department doesn't provide any entrance exams they directly selected students based on their ug marks

My Experience: The good and the Bad

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

In our department , 2 to 3 students are getting palcements. after i completed my degree , i want to research so i admitted in phd programmes.

BU needs more Improvement

Placement Experience:

After 3rd sem, we are eligible for campus placements. There'll be job drive for around 1 week where we get to attend. Commerce students get more opportunities rather than Botany students but nevertheless we get to work in medical feilds depending on interviews
