Review IKGPTU as a 3rd year student

Subjects in BCA are just enough for today's technology, but does not build logic as BTech. Subjects are taught from only apllications point of view, and does not go into depth of logic.The Faculty members are mostly guest faculty and they does not have any greatness in their respective subjects, while some of the permanent teachers here teach really good.

The fee structure for this course is cheaper as compared to other colleges. Per semester fee is to be deposited by students, alogn with hostel fee if taking hostel facilities. During admission you can apply for tution fee wavier scheme( TFW ), which is provided for students with 85%+ in their 12th class. You can also apply for Post metric scholarship program (PMS) , which is for SC/ST students only.

As a BCA student, experience regarding campus life is not really great, but i would say it's okay. Social clubs are not active here in campus. Campus is not fully WiFi except for study rooms, library. Subject related books are moslty available in knowledge resource center(Library). You can go to study room for self-study related work, Study rooms are facilated with good connectivity of internet. You may feel lack of clubs, like coding, photography, art, etc. Overall, student life is just classes and assignments.

Hostel faciliaties include a 2-bed room with attached washroom and a 4-bed room also with attached bedroom. 3 hostels are there in university. They have provided wifi only to common rooms and not to students. No Air conditoning in summer and No heater facility in winters. Also they dont provide Warm water during winters. Hostel have private mess operated by some senior students and care takers of hostel. Mess menu provides only baisc 3-meal per day. No sweets or other complements are provided to students except for girls hostel There is only 2 hostel for girls. You have to shift your room every year

Eligibility criteria for BCA is passing 12th in any stream, You can find more on there official website(ptu.ac.in). Admissions are done by only offline counselling. No entrance exam is required for BCA. You have to visit the campus during their offline counselling and get an admission, simply.
