Remarks
Our college is fairly new when it comes to B-tech and there is great scope for improvement and it has been improving. Overall, the management is very unsupportive to students but the faculty is supportive. If you are someone who doesn't require spoonfeeding and are good to go yourself or are going to prepare for higher studies this might prove to be a good place for you.
Entrance Preview
I took the JEE Mains and scored 130 marks in 2016. This is where I had got selected during the spot round conducted by the college. The course offered here is different from other conventional courses offered by other colleges. It is called Electronics System Engineering and the course curriculum matches with that of IISc Bangalore. This is a research-oriented course which made me opt for it. The admission process was simple. In a day, all the formalities were done with as I had gone there for the spot round. There was no interview. All they required was our JEE-Mains scorecard.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is framed like the same course offered in IISc Bangalore. We will look at it from different perspectives. Looking at research perspective, the course offers enough practical classes to give you a hands-on experience on every lab equipment. However, this curriculum will cover all the basic and some advanced level of electronics that you would require for research purposes. If you are looking to prepare for GATE, the course covers all subjects that are there for the GATE exam and you can write GATE from Electronics and Communication.
Internships Opportunities
No, college doesn't provide any internship and you will have to search for good internships yourself. This gives you a better chance to be able to prove yourself than getting everything already done for you.
Placement Experience
This is currently the sixth year of B-tech and there have been only two batches that have graduated. The training and placement cell is quite new and the companies that are being called for now aren't very great. There have been a few companies visiting our campus that have offered just a mere 3-4 lacs package in which around 3-4 students took the offer. More people took off-campus placement and have got placed outside for as good as 7 lacs pa. Most students opt for higher studies as the culture for higher studies is a lot better in our college and it is easier to prepare for higher studies.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very feasible. The tuition fee is around 28000-35000 depending on the year of study inclusive of all the breakup charges per semester The hostel fee is around 8500 per semester. The mess charges are 2250 per month which includes breakfast but no evening snacks. These are the official charges and you can avail laundry from outside the campus which will have additional charges of around Rs 15 per cloth which will include washing and ironing.
Fees and Financial Aid
Any scholarship that is offered by the Government of India or state governments are accepted after completing the required procedures. It can be hectic to run around to complete the process but is usually done within a few days or sometimes a couple of weeks as the college administration isn't very supportive.
Campus Life
One thing that you will never regret is the campus. The campus is just beautiful. The college building is located in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University which is almost 650 acres and is surrounded by hills and mountains. A lot of workshops and seminars are conducted on a regular basis. The sports facilities are pretty good too. there is volleyball court, tennis court, basketball court and cricket cum football ground accompanied by lots of greenery. There is also the Sports Authority of India right behind our campus where you can go and play. There is also the university swimming pool which can be utilized with additional charges of around 1000-15000 per month. The labs are good but many of the instruments have become old and don't work anymore.
Alumni/Alumna
Many of our alumni have taken the entrepreneurial path and are successfully running their own venture. They have always been very supportive and guiding. you will always find at least one senior pursuing what you would have thought of doing and they can guide you along the path. We are very close to our seniors and you can go to them at any time of the day for any help.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is not very hectic. There are 2 class tests accounting for 15 marks each in every subject. 10 marks are for attendance and assignments. If the subject has practical, that accounts for 25 marks for the practical. The final semester exam is for 35 marks. As you saw, the exam structure is quite chilled out and there is no pressure and the student can easily concentrate on any other activity they are interested in. A lot of people take up other certification courses and internships which can be done along with studying and gives good future scope.
Admission
After writing JEE Mains and Advanced, counseling rounds were conducted by JoSAA. After not procuring seats in any of the round, I checked the websites of few colleges under JoSAA which were conducting spot round. IIIT Pune and Manipur were among that, however, later the spot in these colleges was canceled by MHRD. I checked the NIELIT Aurangabad website and they were still conducting their spot round on the given date. I arrived at the college and fulfilled all formalities and submitted all my documents. I joined the college the following week and the course began.
