Remarks
Overall IET, Lucknow is above average college for me. Infrastructure here is not so good, but still, there are plenty of positive things which makes this college a descent option for graduation.
Course Curriculum Overview
If we talk about course,I think the course is well designed for students.Especially for the first year students, the course is the further expansion of intermediate syllabus. You will often hear "as you have studied this in intermediate/class 12th" from professors ;)
Internships Opportunities
No! If the internship is that much important to you, DO NOT ADMIT yourself at this college. However, after session 2021-2022,I believe internship programs will be initiated by college properly as per instructed by honorable Director of college.
Placement Experience
There are plenty of job opportunities but you have to be worthy of it. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Adobe, Hero are the major companies which bring good job opportunities with them. The average package is, however, not more than 4 lacs per annum and the highest package is around 8-10 lacs per annum.
College Events
Shauryotsava(sports fest), Encore(cultural fest), Parakram(technical fest) and many other branch fest in our college like, Inceptra,Spandan,Alchemy,MechFest, etc. which makes our college exceptionally different from any other college. However,in this year(2018) AKTU's first ever cultural(Pravah) and technical(Abhigyaan) fest was hosted in our college and a huge amount of students participated in it.As a volunteer in Pravah,I observed the fest closely and it was really a successful event..
Fee Structure And Facilities
One of the most important parts for admission is fee which is feasible I think. You cannot compare IET with any other private institution in terms of fee structure.Academic fee for both semester(combined) will cost you around Rs.50K considering an error of Rs.2-3K .Mess fee will cost around Rs.20-25K. Hostel is very cheap here with only 10.5K Rs. per year as fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you secure a good rank in UPSEE, you can opt for fee waiver seats.2-3 seats are reserved in fee waiver. But that's not it,college provides scholarship or fee reimbursement to students who actually satisfy the given condition provided by the state government to opt for it.
Campus Life
Campus life is good, but still there are some restrictions. The gender ratio here is low unlike the medical college. For every 5 boys there is just one girl. There's a lot of extracurricular activities to do.Clubs here will give you opportunities in your favorite field of interest like singing, dancing, acting, etc. Competitions here are held infests, which are really awesome way o test yourselves
Alumni/Alumna
Here comes the best part of this college. The seniors here are really helpful. The environment here is so good, You cannot imagine.Alumni network is strong here, even the first year student can contact alumni freely. When there is no one for you in college, seek help from seniors, surely they will help you even if they don't know you.
Exam Structure
In case of Labs you should be tension free.Although the lab facilities are not up to the mark, but the faculties and lab assistants are quite supportive in this case.In case of Exams, you should be a regular student so as to ease the problems which you face in last moment studies/preparation.
Admission
When IET was alloted to me(Mechanical Branch),I just had to report myself on given date with proper documents arranged in order.Although the admission process was fully offline and done manually. It was very hectic, exhaustingand of course irritating as we had to run from person to person a number of times. Not only us but every other student and their guardians had to face a lot of problems.
Faculty
Faculties are experienced, most of them are having experience of more than 30 years. They know what they have to teach and what are the possible doubts that can arise any student's mind. But aside than this some of the drawbacks are there too. Since the faculties are quite old and also engaged in administrative work, classes sometimes remain unattended. Also, you cannot expect them to help you with your non-academic stuffs.
