Remarks

The college management is not so great. There were many troubles being on the campus. But, it's not completely bad though. They have strived hard to do everything.

Entrance Preview

No entrance test for UG. The admission was direct and based on 12th marks. I secured 87.6% in my 12th and I got my admission here.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum was strongly based on the syllabus merged with Anna University and SRM university. There is less time being spent in the laboratory. Especially, my course needs a lot of laboratory work. The electives were good. Question banks will be given to everyone and mostly all the questions in question paper will be given from them.

Internships Opportunities

It will provide internship facilities only for some departments. Anyways, our department was not listed among the some. So, the stipend amount depends on the course.

Placement Experience

1

Campus drives, placement drives will be there every year during the month of April. Several companies come and take our resume and call the very few best in them. There are no core department placements for genetic engineering people. The only placement they bring for our department is a medical coding and other biomedical jobs.

College Events

4

Tamil new year Annual day celebrations English new year Fresher's party National level symposiums National level conferences National level seminars Blood donation camps Very rare tech fests which include science fair stuff and quiz competitions. Campus placement training.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible for the group. The tuition fees are 35,000 per semester (might be more for the next batches). So it becomes 70,000 rupees tution fee for an academic year. The hostel fees are also feasible, but the food is unbearable. It is 60,000 per academic year.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. There is general student loan facility. But there were no scholarships given by the college, no matter to any kind of merit student.

Campus Life

3

Debate sessions go very well. The gender ratio is almost equal when seen on the campus. Workshops occur frequently. Student parties include new year parties, Fresher's, etc. There were very fewer quarrels and no student politics sort of things. The campus invites, treats, every student equally.

Hostel Facilities

2

They showed us the hostels inside the college in the first. But, after one year, they shifted us to apartments outside the campus since there was some inspection during that time. And all the rest of the years, we stayed in those apartments. Food used to come in parcels and the taste is just unbearable.

Alumni/Alumna

There were no problems with the seniors in the college. They were very friendly and conducted many events.

Exam Structure

It is neither a tough schedule nor a chilled out way. The questions come from the question banks. The labs were conducted well disciplined but without touching any of the equipment. They mostly focus on theories and since the genetic engineering lab works are costly, we only have demos and hardly perform anything.

Admission

There was a consultant who came to the railway station. He picked us from there on his vehicle and we went to see the college. He showed the entire college, labs, campus, hostels, etc. He then asked our opinion. And we confirmed our admission. Once we confirm it, he gave us a form to fill and we filled it and paid the admission fee of rupees 10,000. He again dropped us back.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty changes every year. But all the faculties till now were very good. Most of them were doctorates. And the head of the department was excellent every time. They are very free with the students and clarify all the doubts. The explanation standards were also not bad.

Placement Experience:

B.tech students will be eligible after they complete their credits before the 3rd year and usually that is the period during which they will be eligible for placements. For integrated M.tech it might be after the 4th year in 5th year, they could get a year for internships which is good for students. This might be considered as my interest in this course. The placement is around 95 percent. My plans after getting the degree is to become a highly skilled person and to get a job in google. Many companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, etc place our campus. There are no such companies that visited and made no offers.

Placement Experience:

In my college placement start from 7th semester, students get eligible to sit in drives. Many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some core firms visited and gave good no of offers. Highest package was around 10 LPA and average near 4.5 LPA depending on profile, mostly software dev, testing and few core engineer role. Around 70% students got placed last year, rest go for higher studies or other prep. My plan after finishing degree is to first try campus offer then aim for higher studies if I not satisfied. Overall placement is decent but still more core companies should come.

Course Curriculum Overview:

ECE is a core subject in the upcoming technologies like the semiconductor field etc. which is why I chose this branch. VIT has a lot of labs and equipment that enables a person to learn and grasp practical knowledge faster. The teaching methods include using a PPT and using a white board . Sometimes flip classes are done when students explain topics. The 2nd open book test is the toughest in difficulty level when compared to exam 1 and the final test.
