Likes

The club activities in the college are well engaged
The fest activities held every year are quite vibrant
The mess food is very good and also the hostel life

Dislikes

Minimum Attendance percentage is 75 percent
Lack of hostel and other essential infrastructure
Library is not well oehanised and accesing it is also very hard

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is updated and detailed. Our courses cover all the topics in the syllabus of gate and ese and are also some new topics. The teachers have done their postgraduate or PhD in its and are very learned. The student yo teacher ratio is 1:72. The first 4 semesters being affected by corona were covered in 4months each. Now onwards the regular period of course completion I.e. 6moths is followed. Exams are not difficult yet not easy

Placement Experience

Placements are decent as the core companies and it companies are in good amount. In core the companies that compe regularly are Asian paints, LnT, MSIL, jk copies, tata power. In it companies we get cisco, Infosys , tcs, pwc, deloitte. Highest package is 26lpa and lowest is 3.3lpa with average of 6.5lpa. Around 90% are getting placed. I am looking for higher studies

Fees and Financial Aid

Each semester fee is ?21030 mess fee+Hostel fee is ?13000+?5000/srm Scholarship for top 10 students of each branch=?10000/year Campus jobs are for both core and it students With minimum package of 3.3lpa and maximum of 26lpa and average of 6.5lpa

Campus Life

We have a three fests. Cultural fest xtacy and perception is conducted in March. Technical fest zarzuela is conducted in August. The library contains all the important technical books along with some humanities as well . Intercollegiate sports and intracollege sport activities are conducted a regularly and funded well. There are 9 clubs of varying interests to choose from in the college

Hostel Facilities

The hostel seats are lower as compared to the annual intake. So the hostel seats are availed on the basis of immediate merit. The meal quality is good and the request of students are also given importance. The hostel fees is 5000/sem and mess fees are 13000/sem with a annual maintaainence fees of 1000.

Hostel Fee: INR 27000 per year

Admission

We got our admission solely on the basis of jee mains result and ojee counselling system. The l higher the rank the better course we get.There is a ojee site on which dates will be mentioned. I have not availed any reservation. I see this process flawless.

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

From sixth semester you are eligible for campus placement. Companies visited are Tata power, Adani, OPTCL and others.The highest package for electrical engineering is 10 lacs. 60percent marks is required for getting placement.

My college is best

Likes

Things I like is to good faculty, garden.
VSSUT provides the best amenities and bathrooms.
Excluding hostel & other facilities are like good.

Dislikes

The water quality is not good at all from mess side.
The drainage system is not maintained well.
The surroundings are not clean and the guarda are strict.

Placement Experience:

Some say that the celllege has better placements, but that the salary is not very lucrative. Infosys, Tata Steel, IBM, Wipro, Cisco Systems, Larsen and Cognizant, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Group. My plans are to go to better iim for mba

Likes

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

I did apply for VSSUT Burla but could not clear the cutoff. Also i would like to add on this that i did a better job in choosing the seat here .
