Course Curriculum Overview

4

Biotechnology is the combination of biology with technology which would define the future of the industry and it as a whole sounds interesting to the individuals who are interested in Biology. The biology department of the university as a whole is huge and the faculty members are highly experienced. The ratio of student to teacher was a little out of proportion because in a class a combination of students from biology (including botany and zoology), AMBT and Biotechnology which accounted for almost 90-100 students in a class was handled by a teacher for a subject. But the qualifications of the teachers were top notch wherein individuals also attended esteemed organisations like IITs (in India) and Oxford. The reviewing method was in CGPA and exams happened every other month which kept us prepared. The exams were challenging.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of the study was 2.10 laks for two years. I did get a job on Campus with Stemcyte US after an interview with the HR of the same firm. The interview took place over phone calls and video calls because of the pandemic and the final confirmation of the same was given by the placement officer.

Campus Life

3

The life on campus was nice. Considering individuals had to stay in the hostels at all times. The Department also conducted a fest which was called Janus which included singing, dancing and numerous other activities. Apart from this, all the festivals were highly celebrated in Banasthali, be it Lohri or Durga Puja. Apart from this, Banasthali is known for its 3-day fest known as Apaji which takes place in November. The university houses a huge library that contains books from international authors. The library is accessible to all individuals. The classroom contains tables and chairs which is the basic amenity but apart from that there are also projectors that are often used for better explanation of the topics. Banasthali is also known for its sports and extracurriculars wherein women were allowed to learn horse riding and even flying planes. Apart from this, there is an in-house gym, basket ball court and swimming pool that have given numerous champions to the field of sports.

Admission

For starters, we took an entrance exam based in different cities and the general eligibility criteria for admission was to obtain 55% in the Bachelor's. The application form for the college is very well available on the website of the university plus the college also sends the form at home to fill and send back to the university via post. The admission process was very smooth and streamlined wherein different administrative processes took place in one building only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

- The course curriculum was specifically based on giving more knowledge and insights about the course I chose. I went onto specialization and chose microbiology and learnt that it has various other fields because of the curriculum. - The course and lab prepares well for the real-world applications. - There should have been more hands-on experience with some lab equipments and some teachers should have given more guidance to the students. - Frequency of exams and difficulty level was good. No complaints about that.

The campus placement commity is good, there is a dedicated department for campus placement for students depending upon the course you chose if you take Btech, Mtech or MCA its good but if you take M.Sc you have to struggle for placement and even if you get placement you hace to struggle with the package.
