Likes

The environment is very good to learn. It is full of trees, peacocks, so natural.
Canteen is good. it provides food apart from snacks.Both veg & non veg is given.
Good faculties.They teach good and make us to think.

Dislikes

Faculties always keep students in study circle.
There is no sufficient time to learn courses apart from syllabus.
Each block is far distanced.We have to walk a lot from department to class and vice versa.

The course has good scope.Faculties are friendly, knowledgeable and supportive.They make us self reliable during the programme.Each & every faculty has rich experience in their domain and completed more than PG.There are two internal assessments.Question paper is tough,it makes students to think like applicable type.

In second year,many online internships for all departments are provided.Microsoft will offer more online internship in this college on our own free time .But it is not that useful.Searching internships by our own is much worth. From third year,there may be good opportunities for intern.

Top companies like tata,Wipro,HCl.etc come to this college with an average salary package of ?5,00,000per annum.The highest package is ?12,00,000per annum.Students are eligible from 5th semester onwards.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure is really simple.?9000 for college fee and ?12200 for hostel fee.There many scholarships provided based on eligibility like community scholarship, pragati scholarship,FFE.. Community scholarship mostly from ?8000-?9600.Pragati gives ?50000 per annum.Apart from that college provides scholarship of ?40000 for students who have family income less ?72000.

Campus Life

All textbooks,stories of all generes,magazines & journals are available in the library. There will be many clubs like Rotaract,LDS, Coding club,silambam club...etc which is about course & also Tamil. All festivals are celebrated well. Classroom has smartboard &systems in the lab. Campus takes us to competition of all sports mostly.All facilities are there.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is good for girls when compared to boys.It is okay according to the fee.It is adjustable but for boys,there is no much facilities.5 members are allotted per room. Foods are better except noon time and mess fee will be ?2500 per month.Only veg.

Admission

The admission process is purely based on TNEA counselling.The candidate should have scored 195 cutoff as minimum to get into this college for cse course.Transfer students should have atleast 190 cutoff,so that you can study in this college from second year.Lateral students should have atleast 96.5 for this course.

Is VIT worth it

Placement Experience:

Placements in VIT UNIVERSITY is very good the average package is 8 lakhs and the Highest may go upto 1 crore every year.There is a separate placement cell in VIT chennai and they give you placement training from start of the third year. Many multinational companies like google, microsoft etc comes to VIT to pick students for their company. Almost 98 percent of the students gets places in VIT. After my degree I choose to sit for placements.

A detailed review on GCT Coimbatore - Most affordable college of Asia.

In the admission process i applied only for government colleges like anna university chennai, gct coimbatore, gce salem, thiagaraja college madurai like that. Because i cant afford private college, among these government colleges gct coimbatore remains my first choice and got the admission in there. The main reason of choosing this college is affordable fee structure and good placement statistics. The admission process for government colleges are purely through Counselling process, there is no management quota. Based on our 12 th mark, a cutoff for 200 marks will be calculated. In this 100 marks from maths and 50 from physics and 50 from chemistry will be accounted. Then a rank list will be released based on this cutoff mark incl all applicants, it is called general rank list. There will be other rank list like community rank list where the rank will be grouped by community such as BC, MBC, SC/ST. Every college will release a seat matrix based upon their vacancy. Student have to fill a choice list based on their interest. And based on the rank, the software will check the vacancy for seats in the choice order and finally college is alloted.
