Experience of college life

Decent is enough said. Not really great but also not too low and poor as well.

I gave the MHT-CET entrance exam to join engineering college. Got in through the CAP rounds of admission in this college. Did choose the Electronics as had a taste for it since junior college.

The course curriculum was pretty nice and balanced. Had a committee for each department for any research related subject. The focus on practical learning was good, generally based on the syllabus provided by MU. Elective subject were there at the final year of the course.

Unfortunately the college lacked in this role as well. The college didn't have much to provide in internships. However the faculty members did guide us with some options for interns.

The overall placement scenario was relatively poor. Not many students were placed. TCS and Teradata being the only big name to come for recruitment. Some mid scale companies did come up. The average package was around 3 lacs.

Ambroisa was the Techno-cultural event. It was and has been a success over many years and was undoubtedly the best part of the life in college here. It was a 3 day event and consisted of a separate 2 day sports only event also. Many competitions were also held. The footfall was large. The college did provide us with facilities for the festival.

The fees was around 1 lakh roughly per annum. Could have been less. Since it was a 4 year course the total fees was 4 lacs. However with scholarships, the fees was a bit less.

The college did provide scholarships under the minority scholarship provided by both the state and central government. We received an amount of 25k every year. So totally we received around 1 lac during the course in scholarship.

The College committees were of great help and provided more than enough resources for extracurricular activities.

Stayed at my own residence since it was near my house. Yes but got to know from friends, that the rooms were quite up to the mark. They provided sharing rooms to students, and it was a complete students only hostel. PGs weren't allowed. The payment was around 40k for a year. The food quality was okay.

The alumni platform wasn't much up to the mark which was provided by the college. However, the alumni did help the students a lot through meet up. Especially for the project work, there was a lot of help provided by the alumni.

There were two unit tests each term. A lab session of 1 hour was conducted every day on a particular subject. It was a mixed culture with fun and studies. Probably in between.

Faculty was well qualified and experienced. Have good industrial experience. Some teachers did their M.tech and some are Masters and PHDs. They were interactive and the quality of teaching was also awesome.
