Entrance Preview

Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination. My rank was around 9000. I chose the college because it was one of the best in my locality and easily accessible. The college has really good infrastructure with full fledged labs and separate computer labs for each department.

Course Curriculum Overview

Of the 6 courses offered I did my specialization in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The curriculum being set by Mahatma Gandhi University was a little outdated for my batch which they updated recently.

Internships Opportunities

The college doesn't provide internship as its not part of the university curriculum but students are always encouraged to take up internships during the semester breaks.

Placement Experience

The campus offers good placement for its students. In my batch almost 75% of the students were placed. Mainly IT companies come for recruitment.

College Events

The college organizes 3 main events1. 'BODHI, the national level tech fest2. 'DRISHYA' the college cultural fest3. 'MAGNUM' the inter college basketball tournament.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers fee wavier for low income students and Scholarships for students who did extremely well in there academics.

Campus Life

The campus life is awesome. Besides academics facilities the college offers good sports infrastructure also. The campus has facilities for sports like Badminton, tennis, volleyball, Basketball, football etc. Various workshops on current trending topics are organized by student clubs and the campus has a strong IEEE student branch which conducts national level events. The presence of political parties is zero in the campus.

Hostel Facilities

The college offers separate hostels for boys and girls. The rooms are shared ones. and the hostel offers 24 hour wifi connectivity and all other amenities.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are always approachable and the college boasts about good alumni network.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is not so hectic, you have to be up to date on your works. Faculty is strict about Lab works.

The faculty in the college was best in there profession. They are methodology of teaching and there knowledge of the subject are remarkable. They are very student friendly and are ready to help you at anytime.

Life at CET

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Remarks:

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.

I applied for 4 college include the current one they were : 1)SRM , Chennai 2)M.A.C.E, Kothamangalam 3)MITS , Varikoli 4)V.J.C.E.T, Vazhakulam From these 4 colleges I was rejected by MA college and MITS. I think my KEAM score was too low to make it there . I got a seat at SRM for Electronics and Communication Engineering but was not financialy able enought to afford it. As I was applied for 2engineering colleges and 1 arts and science college. The name of the engineering colleges is 1)viswajyothi college of engineering and technology vazhakulam(Ernakulam) 2)Rajagiri school of engineering and technology (Ernakulam). And third arts and science college name is Amritha vidhya college (Ernakulam). I didn't get any rejections from these colleges but compared to these three colleges I chose viswajyothi college of engineering and technology vazhakulam Ernakulam because there I got my admission according to my JEE score and for less management fees.
