Course Curriculum Overview
Information Technology is the next best thing for a field that involves extensive coding subjects without the hassle of studying Math heavy subjects and other difficult subjects. I have my eyes on being a developer, not some secret mathematician. Faculty-Student ratio is good enough for a college, Faculty is willing to be engaging and work extra hard for their students. Almost all of the teachers who teach me have done their doctorate in their respective subjects. The first semester was very crunched up I would say.
Internships Opportunities
The internship scene is not very active in college. Most of the internships are payless and don't teach you are lot about the industry. Few students earned themselves a good internship and a generous stipend.
Placement Experience
Placements are decent considering the ongoing recession. In 2022, 760 offers were placed in a company from a batch of 990 students. Average package for the same year was 5 LPA. Companies like Prime Labs ltd. Amazon . moneyHOP. Capillary Technologies made offers to MITSians either off campus or On campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees seem a little over the board, The college has all the basic resources for being called a reputed state govt institute. Post metric scholarship is what I have availed as being part of the SC reservation scheme.
Campus Life
The campus is not one of the biggest out there, but it definitely is very lively. Clubs are very active and hold events frequently, ranging from Codathons to Sport-fests. Library is generous with a good index of book titles. Sports is a common taste of MITSians with Volleyball, Badminton and Basketball being the favourites.
Admission
As it's a State Government College the main entrance exam is JEE MAINS. The counselling is then handled by the MPDTE, which conducts 2-3 rounds with upgrades. The counselling format is very similar to JOSAA except for the number of rounds. Cutoffs were at the higher end as it is a reputed college here in MP. Post counselling results, the actual admission process is very straight forward, you are just required to reach the college physically. Reservations benefits are mostly in the are of lower cutoffs and the fee scholarship provided by the government. Best improvement for admission could be more efficient implementation of tech so that the college doesn't become a clueless crowd of high-school grads.
