Application Process: The UPSC exam is conducted annually, and the notification for the exam is usually released in February. Candidates can apply online through the official UPSC website during the specified application period. The application includes filling out personal details, educational qualifications, and selecting the desired exam centers. Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Exam is the first stage and consists of two papers: General Studies Paper-I and General Studies Paper-II (CSAT). Paper-I is counted for merit, and Paper-II is qualifying in nature (33% required). The Preliminary Exam serves as a screening test, and candidates who qualify can appear for the Main Exam. Main Examination: The Main Exam consists of nine papers, including an essay paper and optional subjects chosen by the candidates.
