Course Curriculum Overview
Since this is a relatively new college, the faculty student ratio is very nice. The teachers know you by your names and there is more attention from the teachers. There is the provision of two cadavers per 25 students in the first year Anatomy dissection hall and I think that's a good start. Most of the faculty members are from old medical colleges like SCB Burla or MKCG. All of them are highly qualified and it's a very holistic environment for the students. This in itself is a difficult course, but with the internal exam every 2 months, MB isn't that hard if one is rigourous throughout the year.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a provision of a scholarship for meritorious students whose family's financial income is less than six lakhs per annum. MBBS course comes with one year compulsory rotatory internship in all of the departments when one gets to understand all the pros and cons of each department and improve their skill and further take a decision about pursuing any subject of their choice.
Campus Life
To break the monotony we have elected the annual function which is conducted in the winter months. There is freshers which is conducted somewhere in February or March. Also there are various other quizzes and fests throughout the year. The library is open from 9 AM to 8 PM on all working days but there is a study room which is open 24 hours throughout the year. The classroom has a strength of 200 students. Besides there are several clubs like the journal society, sports club, cultural society, dramatics club etc.
Hostel Facilities
When is provided with the three sharing room for the first four years and interns are provided with single room. The room comes with a bed mattress table, a chair and a tube light, an led bulb, a ceiling fan and curtains. There are four messes so where one can have the meals. The quality of food is decent. Hostel fees at 10,000 per year. There are only few stalls where one can have tea around the campus, besides the mess, but the place is well and coming with more facilities and with the years I think it will be a hub for many more.
Admission
Admissions are through Neet exam. The AIQ cut-off for this college was around 14,500. Like all the (Odisha) state government medical colleges, the admission is through OJEE cell medical counselling, where the necessary documents are validated and you are admitted to a college as per your rank.
