Course Curriculum Overview

3

B tech in Civil engineering at UIT rgpv is a good course. The civil department infrastructure is well organized we have smart classrooms and nice gardens, and sitting arrangements are very comfortable. We have our department library too. Now further the faculty are average. Some faculty are really good and supportive but on the other hand, there are some faculty who didn't even come to class. Now coming to the student ratio, it is about 84 students in this academic 1st year of which 30 percent are girls and 70 percent boys. Here are the professor who have done Ph.D. in their respective field so the qualification is good. Regular lab and theory lectures are held where attendance is really important. If any student has failed to maintain 74 percent of attendance then he or she will be detained and not allowed to give the exam. In a semester there are 3 mid sem, the best of two sem are taken and one end sem which is usually held in the last month of the semester, and then practical exams are conducted.

Placement Experience

2

The average package of this college is approx 3 to 4 lakh per annum. The highest package is fourteen lakh per annum on campus and forty-four lakh per annum off campus. From the seventh semester students are eligible for campus placements. But here not all the students are placed and just five or six companies visit here. About 30 percent or 35 percent of students are placed. Even computer science engineering and information technology engineering students are not sure about the placement and can not expect more than four lakh per annum, so for core branches, it becomes more difficult to get the placement. So after getting admission to this college one can not depend only on campus placements since the placements are low and the package is also not that good. Students can prepare for many exams like gates. My plans are to get recruited in any PSU (yes government job!) since l am from civil engineering it is good to have a government job and who doesn't want a safe and secure job.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very affordable. The motto of the college is to provide quality education to students from financially weak backgrounds. For a general category student the fee is seventeen thousand rupees per year and for other backward classes and scheduled caste schedules tribes is just five hundred rupees. Students whose rank is under one lakh and fifty thousand their fees is also just five hundred rupees . Students from poor backgrounds are also provided relief from fees. There is not such university scholarship program for students but it accepts the Medhavi scholarship program and other government schemes. In betch course, there is not such job which is given with a stipend in 1st year. But in 3rd year various internship opportunities are provided to students. Training for this internship program is given by the college, various skills are taught to students through clubs like gdsc, etc. For Communication skills and full personality development, regular classes are held.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus life is average it's not that good and not that bad either. In this college, there are three clubs running at the current time. One is GDSC which is a coding club that mentors about things related to Google and guide students to get job at Google. Next is Phoenix which is a 3d animation club, here students are mentored about becoming a 3d artist. They organize many workshops within the college and some workshops in collaboration to many other colleges. The rest is the flying colours which basically targets communication skills and personality development. And also many types of competitions are held related to art to interested can join that. Now coming to the most interesting part of the college which is a library which is huge and you will get every book possible, and we have some special techniques that students don't to search the books all over they can just search it on the of the library of rgpv and one of the staff members will bring that book to them. And fest are not organized here.

Admission

To gain admission is this college one needs to take an entrance exam which is jee mains. Jee mains is conducted Every year twice. Students appearing in this exam have to fill out the application form which is usually released one and a half months before the exam. The application details and dates regarding the exam are uploaded in the website www.nta.com . The application form charges for male candidates is 1000 rupees, for females, it is 800 rupees and for the reserved category, it charges about 200 rupees. After both attempt student marksheet is released by NTA, and then students whose rank comes under the cut-off range gets admission to various branches. In this college, there are 8 branches CSE, CE, IT, EC, EX, ME, PCT, and AU. The cutoff for cse is about 93 percentile, for IT it is about 90 percentile, and for EC it is about 88 percentile. The admission process was very good. The staff was very supportive, in the admission room teachers gave the admission form and also they had clear doubts regarding the form and documents.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. Companies visiting campus are mostly mass recruiters along with a few product-based and mid-level companies. Most students receive an average package of approximately 5-6 LPA, while higher packages are offered to only a few top performers. Few seniors, whom I know got packages of 8.5 LPA, 12 LPA, and 19 LPA also, so basically higher packages are also offered but their competition is high and only some of them can make it up to that. A good percentage of eligible students receive the placement offers, mainlt in IT and service-based roles, but competition remains there, so one needs to have serious preparation on his or her own. Arond 60%+ students got placed every year from on-campuses placements. The placement cell provides training sessions and interview sessions from the third year onwards. Overall, placements can be considered decent compared to other private colleges in the region. Basically, after completing my graduation, I plan to pursue good placement otherwise prepare further for civil services after understanding career growth, however, this is not my final decision but could make a final one before the completion of course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The manit curriculum for mechanical is quite strong in basics and was a major reason i chose this course .It covers core maths ,mechanics ,physics ,electrical and wrskhopa ,which helps for higher studies and exams .Exams are frequent with midsems ,quizzes and endsems;sometimes the schedule feels packed, but it keeps us regular with the syllabus.Difficulty is moderate if you attend classes and practice .Still , some subjects feel outdated and there should be more software , projects and insustry oriented content.

Placement record is decent, campus drives happens regularly. If no campus placement is offered then it's obvious one has to struggle a bit more to get a decent job but I beleive the college makes the students capable enough to crack the campus placement if a person really is capable then their is no lack of resources from the college. Even if there is no in campus placement I think everyone has a plan B.
