Remarks

College Management is good. The only improvement to be done is in the Library and PLACEMENT CELL of the college. More and more companies should be invited to recruit the eligible students and give them an opportunity to flourish their career. Students should be allowed to enter into the library and have access to the books of their own choice.

Entrance Preview

No entrance exam is conducted to get admission in the bachelor of commerce. I got admission on the basis of marks scored in the 12th standard. I scored 79.8 %. The reason for choosing this college was the quality of teaching done, how the official works are user-friendly for the students, the college environment and the faculty of the commerce department.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The class was fantastic. The exams were well made and portioned appropriately. The instructor was funny, knowledgeable, and willing to help students. The class material was splendid and made the class enjoyable overall. I would strongly recommend this college to any other student. The material is hard, and so much time has to be put into it in order to do well in the class, but it’s worth it.

Internships Opportunities

I don't know much about the internship offers. It might be available in other courses offered by the college but it was not relevant for the commerce department.

Placement Experience

3

Placement cell did invite some of the companies to get the students recruited. the recruitment event was updated to students through vernacular newspaper and on the notice board of the college. Students would go to the head of their department and get themselves registered for the process. Few of my friends also got placed in reputed companies and banks. But there is a lot more scope for improvement in the placement and job offers.

College Events

4.5

There were drama club, dance, music, NCC, volleyball, football, badminton, basketball, athletics and many other interactive clubs. A lot of cultural events , prize nites, farewell, awareness ralleys, nukkad nataks were carried by different clubs. Notice of all the upcoming events was displayed on the notice board of each department. Students interested would voluntarily go to the concerned person to get themself registered.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The annual fee charged is very basic and nominal. In the first year I was charged 3000, 2000 in the 2nd year and 1000 in the 3rd year (all in approx figures). Whole tuition fees was exempted in all the three years . We were only charged for the young boys fund, building maintenance, and few others. Exam fees around 500 was charged few months before the annual exams in all the three years which was were nominal and genuine. No extra hidden expenses was charged to us.

Fees and Financial Aid

Sorry. But I am not that informed about the scholarship/ loan facility offered by the college department. I did hear about some scholarship given to ST/SC/OBC female candidates. But I am not sure about the terms and conditions to be fulfilled to be eligible for it. But I guess It was a government initiative and not particularly of college. This was not disclosed openly. I came to know about this from few of my colleagues.

Campus Life

3.5

The ratio of female:male in college is 5:4. There is a mixture of all the religions but muslims are more dominating in numbers in the college. We had evening college which was quite exciting for me because in school days we never had the opportunity to visit school in the evening except prize nite and other cultural events. I got an opportunity to enjoy the evening decorum of the college. Politics was not that influential in the college. Every student respected one others religion, beliefs, rituals and thoughts. So it was a good mixture of all the communities.

Hostel Facilities

3

Karim City does not have the hostel of its own. It does have a college canteen but no hostel facilities for its students. The year in which I was graduated the canteen was opened in that particular year. In all the three years of my graduation I wished a canteen for us but lately, it was inaugurated. I have never been there even after completing my degree. I wish I could go there someday with my friend and spend a wonderful time with them.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni meets are done but it is not that frequent. Seniors are helpful. They are always ready to serve us whenever needed. they give us guidance regarding the subjects any extra curricular activities held in college. They keep us updated about all the upcoming events.

Exam Structure

When I was doing my B.Com exams were conducted annually and two internal exams were conducted through out the year. There were 2 honors and 3 subsidiary subjects in the 1st and 2nd year. But in the 3rd year 4 honors and Environmental studies as a compulsive subject was to be attempted. From 2017, Semester Pattern has come into force along with the mid semester, viva and project works.

Admission

First of all, I collected the college prospectus and admission form from the office in the month of June/July which costed Rs. 400 at that time. The very next day I filled the admission form and got the necessary xeroxed documents( 10th markssheet,12th markssheet, school leaving certificate, migration certificate ) attested and went to the college along with the originals and the admission fees. The same day admission procedure was completed and fee receipt was handed over to me. I was informed about the Induction Meeting the very same day. Thats how I got admission.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is very very supportive, encouraging and helpful. The are readily available for us. We can ask for extra time after the classes. Good explanations by Lecturer. The lectures are very interesting and make me eager to listen. The lectures are with real-time examples so I was able to understand better.

Students from semester 3 are eligible to sit for campus placement. There are even some companies which ask for fresher where student of any semester can apply. The specialised course like CA CS MBA has more placement opportunities. Many companies visits like GARNIER, TCS, GOVERMENT COMPANY _JHALSA. recently around 20 Students are selected in TCS with pacakage of INR 3Lakhs . There is no percentage requirements. Every particular can sit for campus placements. It depends on their skill and ability to impress the interviewers so that they can be placed. Basically there is Group discussion(GD) round and personal interview (PI)round which after qualifying one can get placed in the companies.

Remarks:

This college is near to my home and have good reputation in commerce. Its a renowned college for commerce. The fees is also very less here. The maximum fees here is 2000 yearly. There is no need for entrance exam here if you want to join UG or PG. But you have to give entrance for vocational courses. For entrance you should have just scored 60-70% in your previous board exam. This is the most driving factor to take admission here.
