Remarks

Very helpful and hard-working management to raise the institution at certain level.

Entrance Preview

OJEE, I got approximately 3000 ranks in that. I was fond of CSE and this College provide that. From initial, I was interested for CSE and I got that.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course is quite good. It has been taken from IIT Kharagpur. The course is available on the university site. It includes theory and practical both. The course is now a bit changed from what we studied in the past. It is one of the best course structure offered in India

Internships Opportunities

yes, It is now in the university curriculum also. Many companies like NTPC, BSNL, TCS, Infosys in which students are doing an Internship Program.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement is very well and getting increasing each year here. Most of the students get placed in software companies. Jobs in core department is very few. Some of the companies are Hexaware, Cavesson, Tech Mahindra, Globbus Soft, Royal Infra, etc. The average package is around 3.lacs

College Events

5

Each year a cultural fest is organized by the college, volunteered by the students for 2-3 days. Also, Saraswati puja and Ganesh puja is celebrated in the college campus. Annual Sports is also made to make the students fit, both physically and mentally.

Fee Structure And Facilities

ee structure is feasible now. In our time we have to give ₹81000 per year as an academic fee-only and then hostel fees are extra somewhat up to ₹59000. So it's very manageable for a middle-class family.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, Govt scheme is available. Loan Facility is also there.SBI bank Facility is also there. College is also providing installment scheme for the poor student

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio was dependent on the stream of course. On average it was 60:40. Most of the students are from 3 states, Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Extra co-curricular activities like robotics, gaming, painting, sports etc are encouraged by the college.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facility is fine but the mess food is just good. You can choose according to your financial condition. In hostel WiFi, us available, water purifier and cooler is also available. DG is also available for power backup. Very wide range of park where we can roam during evening time.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very strong and every time some program arranged for alumni and ongoing student meeting Seniors sometimes helps junior fellows So it all depends on time and person.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is not so hectic. In a year you have two semesters. In each semester you have to face 3 internals. In total, you have to face 8exams in a year. 6 small and 2 major. And apart from this you have practicals which is distributed effectively throughout the timetable so that students don't have a hectic day in the end and they can have some time to chill their graduation days.

Admission

The admission procedure is very simple once you get a rank card from these exams. Directly pay fees and provide required documents and you are done. One of my cousins has also done CSE, so I got this Branch, I have geared from my relatives that a good placement is also there.

Faculty

5

The faculty members are qualified enough to make us understand the syllabus. Some faculty members are even much qualified than our standards. On average, the experience of all the facilities is approximately 10 years with enough in numbers in each department.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
