A GOOD COLLEGE FOR DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

I completed my diploma course in Electrical Engineering (DEE) from Haji Md Serafat Mondal Government Polytechnic. I chose this course particularly because I love electrical things. In the first year of our course, there were a total of 60 students in our department. In the last (3rd) year of the course, there were only 48 students left. Because some students left the course in the middle, some failed in the exams, and some went to a different college near their residence. The total number of faculty members in our department is 9, including two lab assistants. The faculty members are well qualified. One teacher of our department, Mr Arghadeep Chowdhury sir, is qualified from IIT Kharagpur. They taught us difficult things in an easier way. The exams I give during my diploma course were easy.

All the students are eligible for placements from their 5th semester. Small companies and consultancies come to the college campus for placement purposes. A maximum number of students got placed in different companies in al lover India. Council (WBSCTE) also organises job fairs for the students. Students got placed in companies like AISIN AUTOMOTIVE, MANDO AUTOMOTIVE, JAI BALAJI GROUP, GEOMATICX etc. The average package offered was around 1.8 Lakhs CTC. Around 90-95% got placement from our batch.

The fee for taking admission every semester was Rs. 850. One has to pay 200 to 250 Rs for form fillup in semester exams. Approximately the cost due for admission and exams will be around Rs. 2500 per year. I was able to apply for the OASIS scholarship. The scholarship provided me with around Rs. 3000 per year. One can apply for other scholarships like SVMCM etc. which will give them around as high as Rs. 60000 per annum. Unfortunately, I was ineligible for the SVMCM scholarship as took admission after my 12th. To be eligible for the SVMCM scholarship, one must take admission after their 10th. Maximum students from our batch are placed in different companies all around India. Yes, campusing does happen in our college. the average salary is around 13000 to 14000 in CTC.

Different programs are conducted on the college campus and organised by the college authority or by the students. Specifically speaking annual tech fest was never conducted on the college campus till we (our batch) wished to do so. We organised Tech Fest 2023 for the first time in our college. The progamme was named as "MRITTIKA". There are a lot of books available in the library. One can take a maximum of 2 books from the library and can take another book by submitting the previous ones. Different sports kits are available in the college like cricket, volley, football, badminton etc. The classrooms are big and beautiful.

Hello, I am Subrata Das. I took admitted to Haji Md Serafat Mondal Government Polytechnic in the year 2020. There are two entrance exams to get into this institute for diploma courses. One can appear for JEXPO after their Madhyamik (10th) exam and can get admission in 1st year of diploma courses. One can directly get admission into 2nd year of a diploma course by appearing in the VOCLET exam.
