Course Curriculum Overview
Since I personally am interested in learning how nature works at the most fundamental level that's why I chose physics here. The faculty-student ratio is fine, it also depends on the course you choose to opt for. But professors are very helpful they would always happily help you in case you want to approach them one-to-one. Few faculties especially in the physics department are very good in their subject, for example, one of the professors in the physics department is ranked in the top 2% of scientists in his field of study in the world. Their college has 3 exams generally throughout the semester 2 internal exams and 1 external. Since the college has autonomous status they design their question papers themselves and not according to guidelines by Gujrat University.
Internships Opportunities
The science department college has tie-ups with several prestigious national-level research organisations like PRL, SAC(ISRO), etc which offer students the to work with experienced scientists. This in turn gives students the opportunity to understand how to carry out research and also enriches their experience. It also helps in building one's cv which is considered while applying to various foreign universities.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Fees for aided courses are less and are affordable to the middle-class public in general. In the physics department, the college has tie-ups with some esteemed research organisations of the country like PRL, SAC(ISRO), etc. Every year on the basis of interviews few students are selected to do research under scientists working in these institutions from the second year onwards.
Campus Life
College prestigiously holds its fest named "Culfest" in the month of November-December. The environment is electrified during the days of the fest and is certainly not to be missed. The college participates in Youthfest very actively which is a national-level event for various talents be it theatre or debate or folk dance or elocution, etc. The library is situated on two floors. You will find mostly famous and general books on all the subjects that the college offers. Classrooms are well-equipped with desks, fans, lights and projectors. Extra-curricular activities are actively promoted in college. In sports the college has a table tennis table, 2 clay courts for lawn tennis, a basketball court, a paleta court, a very well maintained football field, a volleyball court, practice nets and a ground for cricket. One of the famous clubs is Astronomica which is run mostly by students. They organise star gazing events, seminars etc.
Admission
There is no entrance exam for Bsc courses. You have to apply online through their website under the column mentioned "Admissions". Once done with the application fee payment, save the receipt. To be eligible you should have passed the qualifying exam (12th grade) from a recognised board in the first attempt. Since the college is a minority college there is some reservation for Christian applicants but nevertheless is does not hamper the admission of a regular student.
