Remarks

The college is based on a huge premise and is as described by me. I find no better environment than this to be a part of. My overall campus experience was fun loving and study friendly.

Entrance Preview

Have to go through Counciling or take admissions through Management Quotas. Reserved for ST/SC/OBC. Language proficiency is English and Oriya

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Maintained academics and facilities help students to catch up with their studies. 2 semesters a year and 4 continued years to get hold of a bachelor degree in technology.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn't provide internships . It allows candidates to enroll for internships with full benefits. Certification and accreditation is checked beforehand.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements happen under the radar of percentage : Below 70 % only companies like BPL , WIPRO , TCS show some interests that too offcampus but offered in our group of institution campus. Below 80 % Ministry jobs in relevant streams are applied for through college , excellent students make it up to Bangalore , Pune , Mumbai MNC companies. Above 90 % usually get into TechMahindra , Webel Companies that visited on the year 2015 GlobalXcare IIC Technologies Wipro

College Events

5

Yearly fest namely Robotics Musical Applied Science and Coding Competitions BPUT intercollege Meet Freshers Farewell College Management is very strong and takes into condition the students needs. College has a capacity of around 3400 students passing out every year. College staffs are all well equipped and help students in every manner.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Well a lac of money plus accommodation fees for students are allowed with scholarship facilities. ( Fees per semester ) 4 years : 5.80 lacs Diploma : 3 lacs onwards College offers : Management studies also. Computer and NGO programm campaigns

Fees and Financial Aid

No I didn't avail any scholarship whereas my couple of friends did . Yes they went through a hassle free studies. Payment of fees through scholarship helped many friends of mine as now they are placed in top companies.

Campus Life

3.5

Yes we had an auditorium in within the college premises. Musical arrangements were already present . For computer geeks we have been powered by Mac with 120 pieces in our labs for continued knowledge through internet. Cultural background is of the state itself in orissa so think of it

Hostel Facilities

2

No so good in condition but when comes the point to take education to a different level its ok.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumnus is not well managed as students don't get to take part in the all events. As you know they get along in the 1st year yet loose track after pass out. Students are trying to be back into the alumnus to take part in future aspects of life too. Even after college it doesn't feel like you have passed out of your college

Exam Structure

I guess that's why a professional degree is taken to be tired learning and then tired earning.

Faculty

4

HOD of ECE/EEE/CIVIL are better in this college. Whereas I heard ECE HOD is changed but yet all faculties are best educated and suitable for teaching. The college has a nice DEAN and principal who doesn't make studies difficult but easy for all the students . And loved by all.

There are internship opportunities at the starting of 3rd year and job opportunities at the starting or 4th year. This year many companies visited the campus which include DE Shaw, Flipkart, Oracle, TCS, VISA(for summer internship drive), and various start-ups like Sarvam AI and many more. Highest package was 56.8LPA by DE Shaw. Flipkart took a total of 20 candidates (12 were selected for 34.5LPA and 8 for internship opportunities). Average package going around 9LPA. TCS mass recruited candidates for around 4 LPA, and ORACLE has been consistent at taking candidates for 24 to 25 LPA. Percentage of Students placed for CSE branch is 90. Many students opt for M Tech courses via GATE exam after getting their degree.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
