Pillai College of Engineering- One of the best college of Navi Mumbai

My overall impression on the college is very good. The experience you have in the campus is awesome. You can never forget the years you spend here.

I wrote CET exam and secured good marks which helped me in getting a seat for Mechanical engineering in this college. There was no interview process as such. You can get seats to this college by giving the CET exam. For my branch the cutoff was 115.0 marks in CET.

I chose B.Tech . The faculty members are ready to help you any time. Equal importance is given to practicals as well as theory lecture. In the 7 hrs of college 3 hrs are reserved for practicals.

Our college does not provide any internship from their side, but if we want to do any internship and get to it, they will provide with a letter which helps us with getting the internship.

The placement of the college is quite good. To be eligible for the placement rounds you should have 8 pointer. So among the eligible students about 80 percentage got jobs. The average package is 3.25 lakh per annum

Pillai College is best known for its annual event ALEGRIA . This is the best college function in Navi Mumbai. Every year more than 5000 people come to this event. It is held every year where they have all competitions regarding sports, science, dance etc. Celebrities come in every year from all over the world and there are bands from different countries performing live. Students should get a break from studies and this is the break they want. Pillai College also conducts seminars and workshops.

The fees here is ₹ 122,000/- excluding hostel. It is a little high above the average fees. In Mumbai the college fees has a range from 30,000 to 2 lakh per year

The college did offer scholarship, but to the top students only. People who scored above 70% were only eligible for scholarships.

There are many extracurricular activities that students can take part in.

I don't reside in the hostel.But my friends do. The college hostel for girls is behind the college campus whereas the hostel for boys is about 3 km from the college. The hostel fees is around 1 lakh of which 30,000 is deposit. They serve different dishes in the entire week which may be repeated in the next. They serve you breakfast, lunch , snacks in the evening and dinner.

Once in a year they organise alumni of senior students, which help in many ways like study, deciding career in future and understanding the real life situation.

Exams are conducted every 1.5 months. Talking about the day schedule the practical are conducted in the middle of the day so that there is gap between the theory lectures. There is a one hour break also

All the faculties are highly qualified. Most of them are having PhD in their respective fields. All the faculties are ready to help you anytime. They even give you their contact details so that you are free to ask your doubts anytime. The standard of teaching is excellent. They make you understand the topic in a simple way.
