The campus life is the best that we can get and really enjoyable. the freedom we enjoy in college campus as a student. The frequently happening events in the college and the profound Xavier Utsav adds more to the beautiful experiences here. Though the college rules regarding dress code, attendance, classes, exams and admissions are strict but these are what that helps in building a simple college into a reputed disciplined institute. Here imparting good education and knowledge to students is given more priority than anything else and to do so academic syllabus as well as the teachers are updated. The faculty is awesome and they support not only in texts but also encourages and guides students to future available career options. Overall Xavier's Ranchi is a place where you learn as well as enjoy your college life and get your future all in a proper right direction.

Xavier's Ranchi conducts entrance exams for all courses at graduation level. The structure of Entrance exams is based on the course selected by the applicant. I had to appear in a written objective type entrance exam. There were multiple choice questions with options that we had to do. Every year there are thousands of applicant appearing different courses. The competition is very difficult and the cut off scores goes very high. The English department alone received around 2000 applications this year as we were informed by our HOD. I am pursuing my honors degree in English Literature and that's only because of my great interest in Literature and language. English department is the top reputed department of this college.

The Department of English is one of the oldest and reputed departments of the college. The course here follows the current updated credit based marking system and the syllabus as directed UGC. The learning is not only limited till texts but we also get classes on personality development, communication skills, Debates, Group discussion rounds with external faculties, frequent text based presentations and time to time career counselling.

We are frequently supported by our professors to opt for internships and even few firms in Ran chi come and take students for internships with the efforts by the college authorities.

The placement here is good. A large number of companies come and conduct sessions. Every year there are lots of students that are being hired. A placement cell is specially established for this purpose only to help students with the companies and firms coming for placements.

Every now and then there are events like Sports festival or different competitions. Xavier Utsav is the annual festival of the college held every year in the month of Feb. There are a range of events in Xavier Utsav from sports category to debate, speech, painting, poster making, cartoon making, rangoli, face painting, Lazer tag, singing, body show, fashion show and many more. And all this ends well with an amazing Rock Band show.

It is quite affordable with annual fee for English honors as around Rs. 12000 to Rs. 3000 and exam fees of Rs. 500 to Rs. 600 at the time of semesters.

Semester wise exam pattern is followed with mid semesters in between them. Though the exams get stressing and tiring but an exam is not fruitful if it does not put a stress on you to learn and perform good.

The faculty is the best that one can get. It stands perfectly well to a student's expectations. There are a total of 9 - 10 professors and are highly qualified holding degrees of masters and PhD. The department HOD is a famous poet whose books on poems have earned great praises and prizes in India and aboard. The professors are very interactive and always ready to help us in our academics. They listen patiently to our problems and give their time in sorting it out and explaining to us. The teaching standards are very high and by the end of final year the students witness the transformation in them too.
