What Students Say
Likes
- TPO, man with excellent selling skills, a hard working professional.
- Faculty, some of them are really mastered their subjects and are irreplaceable.
- Extra curricular activities, gives break to the students from their buzy schedules.
Dislikes
- Faculty, when recruitment is done, they should not be recruited on the basis of their experience but also on the mastery of the subjects.
- Sugar coating, unnecessary fame is done which may affect the character of the students and also give them the mindset fo supremacy.
- Students, activities should be conducted where students can freely interact with the faculties and also get more familiar with their streams in the early days.
Course Curriculum Overview
Firstly reason behind choosing the course is, we all know that it is the world of technology and the best way to get into it, is through computers and so I was admitted to this. Getting about the faculty-student ratio, I don't think it is an issue because a good faculty can teach thousands of students, if and only if he/she can connect with them. One thing I would recommend or will urge the government is that all the faculty in engineering colleges should at least ask to get a diploma or bachelor's degree in education. Because all the faculty in the engineering colleges are engineers and none of the engineering students would like to be a teacher after completing the engineering courses. So the faculty in the engineering colleges are left from their jobs or may have several reasons and then they come to teach not by passion but because of the need, and they have been given the string which would rule the country's future. Exams are always off time.
Internships Opportunities
So, in my final year, I did an internship in machine learning, data sciences, and artificial intelligence. Which taught me how data and be important and how well it can be used if we are aware of it. For our batch, no internships were provided when we needed them. So I did the internship on a level. It gave me the perspective on which domain should I be choosing after my engineering. Because I've seen students getting placed but not knowing their field of interest. So getting an internship makes you aware of it and also provides you with in-depth knowledge of the domain. I learned many things about it and got to know about many technologies. That internship helped me to do my final year project which was machine learning based and that eventually saved nearly 20k of my team.
Placement Experience
So about the placement, students are getting eligible in their 3rd year of engineering. They are offered an internship and if they perform well they get offended with the full-time jobs as well. In the batch of 2021-22 almost 100+ students were placed, with an average package of 3.5 to 4 lpa, and drastically my batch only 23 students are placed. Even though TPO has changed, they have brought us many opportunities but as sad before they look for skilled ones. Only 15% of students have got placed in the recently graduated batch. Colleges providing placements is not in the curriculum but it's a bonus for the students. If they provide opportunities grab them else be prepared for your plans. If you're an engineer, you would do some or the other thing, it is just the game of time.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure as discussed earlier, is according to the caste of the students and even students are getting eligible for the different scholarship schemes. The PVG was started with the motive to provide the education with least fees or free education for underprivileged students. Yes, campus placements are getting increased in the last few months. Even with the curse of recession, the placement takes place. The only thing here is that the companies are looking for skilled students rather than students who are eager to learn. Even after the background of the institution and the environment, HR looks for a team that will benefit the company in a short time rather than the future.
Campus Life
Colleges conduct the annual fest, which consists of days that involve all the students as well as the faculties. The events are organized by the students and for the students. Committees are appointed by the college which looks after the management and all other stuff of the events. About the library, it's well formed with all the required materials in it. The librarian is very helpful and he is up to date. During the events, the sports are also included which encourages the athletes to showcase their talents. And now and then extracurricular activities take place which is like a break from the overloaded schedule. Colleges also run clubs, formed by students for different technical and non-technical activities. Skill Up club is one of them, all the students have done great work in the last year, and the only thing they can improve more under the guidance of enthusiastic faculty.
Admission
I'm a diploma student, who did the diploma in computer engineering from government polytechnic, Nandurbar. So for me, the admission was for the direct second year of engineering. The admission process is simple, as you have to apply through the CAP process which would be conducted by the DTE. As per the Caste the seats are reserved and for DSE i.e. direct second year 10% of the seats are reserved. For the admission process I would recommend the improvement that, as now most of the process is through online mode, the final confirmation is on-site, so that would also be online. Other than that all things are improving as time passes.
