Remarks

It all depends upon your capabilities. If you are hell bound on enjoying your college life, you will. People are friendly here.Architecture sucks. Though it all depends on you at the end. If you want enjoy it, you anyway will.

Entrance Preview

GGSIPU(BA-llb/BBA-llb) entrance. I gave the entrance , got 2919 rank , got this college in third counselling. Its pretty much one of the good colleges of law in IP university. Nope, no interview. I choose this course because i have always been interested in courtrooms and laws.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Its great Seriously, if you really have a passion about law, you will love the subjects. Some of them are boring but the good subjects overpower this feeling :p Its pretty much theory, since there is a lot of it. But in the curriculum, you are required to go through two months internship in you summer vacations, which provides for the practical experience in the learning part. Many debates, research work, moot courts are held in our college. Once in a while they organised a visit to jail or courts.

Internships Opportunities

I don't think the college provides for an internship. Never heard of one. We apply on our own in different companies or under different advocates.Though if you have good reputation with faculty , they may help you with the internship. Although i haven't heard of a single internship placement through college Reference letter is provided by college on request. In law internships, there is rarely a stipend amount, since it is believed and rather is true that we are the ones who gain the experience and work , not them So forget the stipend. Especially if you are working for an advocate.Usually, what we all do is , search the web sites like law octopus, live law etc. for internship opportunities. , Then we mail them our resume and if we are lucky we get selected Although, you may make friends who have their family members enrolled in courts or companies , and request them to refer you. That is the best that i know about this.

Placement Experience

2

Not enough opportunities till now. STUDENTS The LLB course has commenced in the Year 2006 and till date 4 batches have already passed out. The majority of the passed out students are practicing in different Courts of Delhi including Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India, working with many senior Layers at different levels. Some of the students have joined corporate sector in Legal Services/Department of the same. That many students have gone abroad for higher studies in U.K, Europe and United States. Some of the students are preparing for Judicial Services. One student from the first batch has topped in Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services and is continuing in service.

College Events

4

Anugoonj (ipu fest) - large scale university fest Annual day - College only.Rakesh aggarwal memorial debate/moot courtcompetition. Youth parliament. 30-40 colleges are involved including NLUs. ( All india programme)These programs are good and give you enough learning experience. The organisation is good as compared to other ipu institutes. Infact Rakesh agarwal memorial is one of the good competitions that is held in law field.

Fee Structure And Facilities

According to me fees is high , though still less than private universities.40000+28000 - admission fees 61600-2,3,4,5 year.(Approximately )

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides you letter(demand letter) for availing loan. It takes at least two days to get the same .

Campus Life

1.5

Yes. Ample opportunities are given in the college right from participating in debates, dance competition, quiz, moots , workshops etc. They have recently started an inter house competition system too .

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No hostel facility. So the food rating given below is for the canteen.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. There were certain events where the alumni shared their experiences in both college and outer world

Exam Structure

Not at all a chill culture. If you are choosing GGSIPU, remember my words, there is nothing chill culture . Really We get 15 projects per semester . Two internals in every semester and one external. Viva +presentation in classes. So nah - uh, nothing chill . This university practically runs on exams.

Faculty

4

Like every college , we have a few okay teachers and some good teachers. Faculty is qualified and experienced. The new ones that has been enrolled are much better in teaching. Very interactive teachers. If you respect the faculty, you can gain a lot of knowledge from them. Personally, i have found the faculty very friendly and good in teaching.

Being very passionate about law it brought me closer towards the subjects i thought I'd never like. It's vast curriculum has made me like a lot of subjects and has also given me a real life applications and further academic achievement however I feel like the curriculum should focus on law subjects from the very beginning and teaching could be improved by further interactive session between students and faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very much practical knowledge based and helps the students to grow there legal reasoning which helps them to prosper in the profession. Also it helps them to read and correlate the real time judgements being passed, this curriculum prepares the students to understand the reasoning behind the judgements. Though the curriculum is practical knowledge based it still requires many improvements as these case are old and some of them are even overruled, also the we have to write very long answers which needs to be changed as new methods like ooen text book exams can be adopted to improving.
