Likes

The best thing I liked about SBU is its infrastructure. It is one of the best college in Ranchi according to this criteria.
Another thing i liked about SBU is its well managed course curriculum. Exams and Results are on time.
The last thing I liked about SBU is its faculties who are very helping in nature.

Dislikes

Faculties are good but they lack in teaching techniques and skills.
Overpriced course structure is the another drawback of this college.
Semesters are completed in 3-4 months instead of 6 months. There are more things like this but I mentioned only few of them.

Course Curriculum Overview

I opted for BCA because I have an interest in coding. Faculties are good but as they are new they lack teaching techniques. There is around 1 faculty for every 10 students. Faculties' educational qualification is also good and their teaching method can be considered ok-ok. The mid and end-semester exams are on time and it is very easy to pass these exams.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 235000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The total cost of BCA is around 2,35,000 and you get a scholarship according to your marks scored in 12th. I got a 10% of fee waiver as I scored 79.4% in 12th. Also, SBU provides e-Kalyan scholarship benefits. I am currently in 2nd year and I have not placed yet.

Campus Life

SBU is regularly organizing different cultural events with time. Freshers' party organized for the newly admitted students. Events like coding competitions, photography competitions, food fests, etc are organized time by time. Only a few books are available in the library. Sports Week is celebrated each year when students compete with other college students. Also, there are many social clubs formed that organize various events.

Admission

The minimum eligibility of the BCA course is you have to pass in 12th with 40% with one subject as English. The admission form is available on the website of SBU. You have to pay 1000 for it. The minimum eligibility required for reserved candidates is they have passed 12th with a minimum of 35%. The admission process is very slow and the staffs are rude too.

Sarala Birla University is a nice choice for UG courses

Placement Experience:

When I went to college's orientation program, they showed a data in which more than 90% students placed last year. I don't know the exact but there were only few students last year but from our batch, the number of students increased hugely. So, I guess there will be an decline in placement ratio. According to college and some seniors, some big companies visited in college and they hire meritious students. Average package is around 6L which is decent.

Placements are really good for my department. From Semester 4 th you all are ready to get placed as company visits in an even semester. The companies visited are DeloitteUsi, Capgemini, Tcs, Wipro, EY, and Byjus many more...you just need to be attentive. The highest package till now is 10 lpa and the average is 3 lpa And there are placement coordinators who help you in guidance. Almost 75 to 80 percent gets placed with low to average packages.
