Remarks

The college is good in terms of infrastructure, student teacher relations, etc. It's kinda strict and you don't get much holidays. The staff is friendly and supporting and strict obviously. Various programs are held to help us prepare for our placements and other related stuffs. Overall the college is good with good infrastructure.

Entrance Preview

I entered the college through CET. There wasn't any interview process but just a talk with the principal of the college where he shared few ideas and concepts of how enthusiastic and focused we should be regarding our future.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I have taken up Electronics and communication engineering. The lecturers share extra knowledge regarding the topics based on entrances exams and their applications as well as share their experiences and give examples of people so that we understand what to do and what not to do. They motivate us to take up internships and also ask us to do mini project based on few subjects depending upon the lecturer

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internships based on the request of students and how many people are interested. If there are many students who are interested they let them take it up in the college.

Placement Experience

4

The placement in Sahyadri is given too much importance. The pre final years are going coaching from outside tutors (eg 10 seconds) to develop their aptitude tests. There are three sessions of these training. One before the odd sem another between the odd n even sem and the last before the 7th sem. More than 130 companies visit the campus for recruitment. Many students gets placed.

College Events

4

There are departmental branch inauguration programs, SPSS where the students form group and make project every year, tech fest where the students from different PU college come to exhibit their projects.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Well if your entering through CET the fees comes up to 70,000. If you are from SNQ then your fees can be 19,000 per year, which is available only to one student in the whole branch. If planning to enter through a management seat the fees depends on the branch you take. For mechanical branch the fees is more.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are online scholarships available for minority as well general merit students based on their performance.

Campus Life

4

The college organised inter class competition for sports like cricket, football, etc as well as inter departmental competition and are awarded with overall championship based on the points scored by the students of the branch

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Am not a hosteler. There are lots of PGs around the college. The hostel isn't single rooms. People share rooms (mostly up to 3 people in a room). There are different dorms for boys and girls. The mess timing for boys and girls are different to avoid any unnecessary issues. The hosteler are supposed to be back in their room before 7.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni of the college have startups in the college and they help juniors like us. They share knowledge with the ones really interested in learning about various stuff like how to do are design and other stuffs. There are student groups where students from all branches and semesters come together and create bots for entering competition. Our college was represented in Aero design competition held in USA by few of the students.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted once every month. The exams (Internal Assessment) end in 3 days. We have to write two tests a day and each subject has a portion of 2 modules for each exam except for the third. There are chances of portion being less based on whether the lecturer is able to complete the portion by the exams start. The question papers are set by the in charged lecturer for that particular subject and the correction is done by him.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty also undergo various programs that is provided by the upper management to improve their skills and to know the things with which they should be concerned with. The lecturers have good knowledge of the topics they are specialized in and also undertake research work. The college provides facilities to lecturers to carry out researches. The management has made it compulsory for the lecturers to stay back till 5:30 so that they are available to students for clearing of doubts and any other information.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.
