Remarks

At last, I would say that HBTU will help in overall development of a student, with its excellent and exceptional faculties and all these events, workshops and fest every year. But the college should improve their hostel conditions, and also the class conditions, providing students with better appliances, and also better equipment in Laboratories.

Entrance Preview

I got admission through Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination, and I scored 428 marks with a rank of 2078. I chose Electrical Engineering as my course because I was interested in this field from class 12th only. I liked the concept of transformers, magnetic fields etc. Hence I chose this course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is quite compelling, because it has many practical work, and there are many Laboratories where we are taught about Electrical appliances, how to handle them, how to work with them. It's really interesting when you start doing it. There are different subjects, focusing on various fields, and practical use of every field is taught to us.

Internships Opportunities

Many students goes to really good internships every year, with a great stipend too, and providing immense knowledge to the student. But mostly students have to find internships on their own, and college does not provide us with these opportunities much.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement in my college is quite remarkable. From Chemical Engineering, Paints Technology, Oil Technology, Plastic Technology, almost all the students gets placed, with an average package of 3.5-4.5 Lacs per Annum. But the percentage placement of core branches is a little low, but with a higher package like 6 LPA. Companies like Maruti, Dell, Asian Paints, Infosys and many more comes to our college every year, and recruits a great number of students.

College Events

5

There are many events and fests held in HBTU. We have a technical fest named Zest, a cultural fest named Odyssey, and also Sports fest and hobby fest too.. We even have annual sports meet for alumni, in which even the alumnis of our college and the students, both tale part. The biggest fest in our college is Odyssey, which is a fest of 3 days, in which various celebrities are called every night of the fest, and participation from the students of our college, and even the colleges from outside also, is very high. And the combined technical fest, Zest has been started from last year only, before that there were many technical fests from different branches. Zest is also a 3 day event and various speakers, and role models are called to motivate and inspire the students. And in this fest too, the participation from the students from every year is high.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government college, the fees is quite reasonable, and not at all expensive. And there are many plans of fee reimbursement for economically challenged students from our UP Government. And for SC/ST students, the education is almost free of cost, which is really beneficial for these students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, there are many scholarship programs run by the UP Government for reimbursement of fees for economically challenged students. And also for the SC/ST students, the education is free of cost, there is no college fees or hostel fees for them.

Campus Life

3.5

The student gender ratio is not equal.. There are a lot more guys than girls in the college. But that's mostly because only a few girls opt for engineering. Like in a class of 35 students, there will be maximum of 8-10 girls, not more. And yes, there are various extracurricular activities organised in the college, and not only during the fests, but other than that too. There are many debate competitions, literary events organised during the Literary Fest. And cultural events happens in every fest, every occasion, even on teachers day, students performs in front of others and have various activities. During Zest, the technical fest, we have robotic competitions, make something useful out of junk, and many other such events, which were really good. There are many workshops held every year in HBTU about Robotics, App Development, Web Development etc which helps the students very much.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is not too good. The rooms are sharing, 3 students in one room, and the rooms are also quite small for a capacity of 3 students,to live there comfortably. They paint the hostel and the rooms once every 3-4 years, which makes the conditions even worse in the hostel. But yes, Mess food is alright. They give a morning breakfast, then a Lunch in the afternoon, then in the evening they provide with some snacks too.. And there is dinner at night. The food is alright, can't say that its too good, but its not too bad either. What can I say, its a mess, not a restaurant right.

Alumni/Alumna

The most helpful person in the college would be your senior. They help in any way, being it about studies, or any cultural events or debate competitions. They will help the juniors in every field. And the Alumni too, even after passing put of the college, they help in sponsoring the events, and you can ask them anything about job placement etc, they will always help in any way they can.

Exam Structure

We have 1 exam, and 2 tests before the exam in total. In a semester of 6 months, it is quite sufficient, and not at all hectic. The 2 tests are quite beneficial, it helps the students to complete most of the syllabus before the Semester Examination. And the Labs are according to the subjects only, so they are also quite alright.

Admission

After the result of UPSEE, I filled various colleges in my counselling, and HBTU was my top priority with electrical engineering as my 2nd priority as my course. My first priority was Computer Science, because lets face it, it has got the best placement all over. Then after getting selected in HBTU, I went for counselling in the college where I procured various admission forms, and filled it then and there only. The administration was very helpful, and were clearing any doubt I had. It didn't took much time in getting my admission as the process was quite simple, and well arranged, which was really remarkable. So I deposited my forms, and went back home.

Faculty

4

The faculty of my college is quite qualified. There are many professors having PhD in their respective courses, and teaches really good. They don't just teach a subject, they teach like making the students interested in that subject, and make even a difficult topic, easy to understand. The faculty not only teaches about their courses, but also about day to day life, which is quite beneficial for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and keep up with the evolving trends of industry. It balance Theoretical and knowledge and practical application, helping students build a strong foundation in core subjects like programming mathematics and engineering fundamentals. The curriculum Includ Laboratory session Projects and tutorials that enhance understanding beyond the textbooks It also allows students to choose elective in later semester which adds flexibility and depth to learn. In terms of revevance, most subjects are designed to align with current industry requirements especially in field like computer science and electronics the inclusion of emerging technologies such as ai data science and web development makes it quite comprehensive. However a few areas could be improved such as integrating more industry based project and updating some older Syllabus to match modern tools and frameworks. Overall the curriculum is relevant ,comprehensive and career-oriented providing a solid base for both higher studies and professional development.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This criteria for choosing the college was because of placements. The curriculum Is outdated and not as per the industry requirements. In 1st year we are taught only one language and which is of no use.... That is C. But in other universities, students are taught languages like java, C++, python in their 1st year. Teachers are good. I have no issues with them but I have issues with its curriculum. Exam are taken so much which are according to me good as they prepare as for university exams but as I consider placement point of view so students do not have enough time to prepare for their placements, learning new skills as we are supposed to study for exams otherwise we will have to attend extra exams and classes and will lose internal marks. So having many exams have both benefits and drawbacks.
