Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is highly advanced and is designed according to industry standards. There are many subjects like Tally, IBM etc which are included in the course curriculum. The curriculum is updated regularly and it concentrates both on application and theory.
Internships Opportunities
The students are required to undertake two internships during the course. The first internship is during the fourth semester and it carries two credits. The second internship is during the sixth semester and it carries four credits. The students are allocated a faculty guide, who guides them during the internship. A detailed report of the internship should also be submitted. However, the university does not provide any assistance in getting the internship.
Placement Experience
There are very few companies which visit the campus for placements. Some of the companies which visit the campus are Jaro Education, Organization Developing Consulting, Capgemini, Madura Mills and Ernest & Young. The average package offered for a BBA graduate is 4 lakhs.
College Events
The college conducts an intra college Annual Sports meet every year. Some of the other events are Onam Celebration, Blood Donation Camp etc. The MBA Department also conducted a Management fest recently. The college encourages students to participate in intra college fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is at par with most other private colleges. The fees for the BBA course is Rs 78,900 for a year. Apart from this, the college also charges exam fees. The exam fees is Rs 2000 for a semester and Rs 500 for a subject. There are no other charges apart from this.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers a annual CMR Memorial Scholarship, based on merit and sports. There is no loan facility provided by the college.
Campus Life
The students in the university come from diverse backgrounds. There are students from many countries like South Korea, Nepal and Thailand. There is also an equal mixture of North Indian and South Indian students. There is no gender discrimination which takes place and there are equal number of boys and girls.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good. The college has separate boys and girls hostel, which are about five minutes walk from the college. There are both single and double rooms available. The hostel provides free WiFi and meals. Also, there is a security guard throughout the day. The annual fees for the hostel is about one lakh rupees.
Alumni/Alumna
CMR University was established in the year 2013. Hence, this is only the second batch of students and so it doesn't have any alumni network. The seniors were quite friendly and helpful.
Exam Structure
The university has three main components for exams: Internal Assessment Tests (IAT) : There are 3 IATs conducted during a semester. The average of the best 2 is taken. This component carries 20 marks. Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation: This component consists of 30 marks. It includes several assignments which are given throughout the semester. Term End Exam(TEE) : This is conducted at the end of every semester. Each paper is for 100 marks, and it is scaled down to 50 later. A student who fails in these exams can appear for make up and supplementary exams. The minimum attendance required to write exams is 75% aggregate and 65% per subject.
Admission
I collected the admission form from the university office, after paying the fees, then filled up the form and submitted it with all required documents and paid the college fees.The admissions usually begin around the month of May and continues till the end of June. Classes begin in mid July.
Faculty
Most of the faculty of the college are quite helpful and friendly. They always motivate us to do our best. The faculty are highly qualified in their respective areas and they have a vast experience. They also use many innovative methods of teaching like case studies, presentations etc.
