Remarks
Every aspect that can alter the choice of a good university is satisfactory if not above. Its a neat and clean place following its schedule in a proper manner. Management is very strict for attendance criteria which can be a problem for some people. And the accessivility to the jniv is a little difficult. Its only accessible through university buses or taxies which acts as a turndown for a lot of people. Rest everything is just fine
Entrance Preview
Banners of the university are all over town and they post regular adds in the newspapers. They have their own entrance test. Not sure what the passing criteria is as its not disclosed. But as i had scored good in 12th standard, they just gave me the admission without the entrance test.
Course Curriculum Overview
For the first two semesters they cover the 12th standard subjects like accounts, economics, maths, computers, etc, that too very basic concepts which makes it scoring. Then for the next 4 semesters they teach the subjects related to business that are mandatory to be taught under ugc norms. These include financial accounting, cost accounting, management accounting, human resource management, macro and micro economics, sales management, operations research, marketing management business laws, entrepreneurship, etc. Which are same for almost every university. Computer is also a compulsory subect in every semester. There isnt a lot of research work, but they offer internship letters during vacations if anyone is interested.
Internships Opportunities
BBA is a course that doesnt require internship but if some student wants to do internship, the university offers internship letters for a month in human resources, marketing or finance, in which they give the basic understanding of the work being done without a lot of pressure.
Placement Experience
For bachelors there arent a lot of placement opportunities. There has not been a lot of placements from bba. Only 1 student got placed in policy bazaar from bba and from last year they stopped offering placements to BBA students, despite their advertisments claiming to provide placements to every student. But they do offer good placements in MBA and engineering.
College Events
Its compulsory in the university for every branch to organize at least one event every semester, so there there are a lot of events going on from time to time, be it painting competition, essay writing, debates, quiz, talent hunt, fashion show, plays, etc. Artists from outside are also invited from time to time. Most of these events take place within the campus or in the auditorium. The events do not last longer than a day. Every year there is a fest called moyiza which covers covers all the above stated events. And after that some guest artist is invited which follows a dj night after that.
Fees and Financial Aid
They do not offer any loans but do offer scholarship for students who scored above 75% in 12 th standard.
Campus Life
On days you dont feel like attending classes you can always go to the main campus where you can find a great crowd and a cafe to chill you out. There is no interference of faculty members in students life outside class. The crowd is widely diverse as about 30 to 40 percent of students are from foreign countries. The girls to boys ratio is almost equal. There is a facility for gym within the campus and also a room for playing table tennins which can be accessed from 9 to 5. There is a lack of sports and related activities within the campus but they do have a ground near the campus where students can go for playing sports. The university is free from any political interference of any kind. There is high intolerance for any kind of inequality or sexual abuse. There is a community within the campus consisting of university faculty that looks after any inequality or abuse. The hostel doesnt allow any dorm parties but the students can always throw some parties every once in a while by letting the warden know so and assuring no mess will be made. No workshops for business students.
Alumni/Alumna
The crowd is good and students are cooperative. I used to get notes from my seniors in every semester that helped me a lot for completion of my course. All the management classes are on the same floor which encourages the junior senior interaction directly or indirectly. I also got my project for reference from my seniors for the final completion of my degree.
Admission
The notification was being telecasted on the local news channel and also a pamphlet was delivered everyday with the newspaper. And thats where i got the wind of the university. It was infancy when i took admission so not a lot of people knew about it.I called on the number that had been provided and asked about the fee structure, they were reluctant to tell anything on phone and asked me to visit the university. So i wnet to the university. At the reception they made me fill a form in which there were a few questions asking 10th and 12th marks, school name, stream i wanna opt, how i got to know about the university and had i visited any other universities before going there. There was a guy who explained me the entire admission process and the fee structure. Prior to admission he gave me a complete tour of the university. He showed me the campus, the classrooms, mess, hostel , cafe, gym, etc.
Faculty
The faculty is skilled and qualified, with an understanding of their respective feilds. Some of the teachers are Phd and some are pursuing. I didnt notice any issues of absence of a teacher when they had a class, in case that happened, some other faculty member took a class.
