Had good experience at NIT trichy

I chose this course because after graduation MCA was a better option for me as I had done a BSc in Computer science. In terms of placement, MCA is better than MSc in Computer science. There are 15 faculty for 300 students. Faculties are very well qualified and have good experience in teaching. In each semester there are 2 cycle tests and one final exam.

Top companies like Amazon and Goldman Sachs companies visit the campus for internships and students get above Rs 50,000 during the summer internship. The companies which visit during the internship are really good.

NIT Trichy is known for its outstanding placement record of 95% of students getting placed with a good package every year for MCA students. But because of the recession batch 2020-2023 student only 85% are placed. The average package is 15 lpa.

The institute fees are around Rs 70,000 per semester for the general category and hostel fees are around Rs 40,000 per semester. You can easily get an education loan from the SBI branch inside the campus. There are many scholarships available for students which include merit-based scholarships and minority scholarships.

There are mainly 3 fests which are famous and students enjoy and learn many things during these fests. The first one is Festember which is held during September or October there are many fun events in this fest where different college students also participate. The second fest is Pragyan which is the biggest technical fest where different colleges also participate and win prizes along with technical events there are many non-technical fun events. The last one is NITTFEST where all the departments of NIT Trichy compete with each other in dancing, singing, gaming and many more. Also, NIT Trichy conducts Sportsfete where all the departments compete with each other in different sports.

First-year and second-year students get sharing rooms and during the final year they will get a single room for each student for placement preparation this is only for boys. Girls, they will not get a single room in their final year also. The hostels are clean and wifi facility is also there. Meals in the mess are average or I can say below average.

The eligibility for doing MCA at NIT Trichy is clearing the NIMCET exam with a good rank. If your category is general then a rank below 50 is the maximum rank to get admission. NIMCET application form and application dates can be found on their official website and for NIMCET 2020 we have to pay Rs 2500 for the application fees. If your category is ST/SC then below 2000 general rank and category rank should be below 10 for ST.
