Amity University, Masters In Journalism And Communication

Remarks

Amity puts u in a dilemma. If its good or bad will be difficult to say but it sure can improve on so many things.

Entrance Preview

I got to know about this programme in Amity through my elder sister who herself has been an Alumni therefore i approached the institution on their website and then i followed the form filling procedure. Once you are done with filling the forms the college writes you about the interview dates and the list of documents you beed to bring alog for admissions. Once you get theough the interview which apparently is very easy again you are informed about the tid bits by the institution through mails regularly. Incase you cannot be available for your first date of interview the university automatically will provide you with another.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Every one at Amity is easily approachable. You can always write to amity through information help lines they are always available at your disposal.

Internships Opportunities

The college does provide internships. The stipend this year for masters programme was 12000 and for bachelors was 6000. Communication students have radio as an option for internships every summer provided you should be really good at communicating with people.

Placement Experience

3

Placement is just decent nothing great. You can always try off campus. Job opportunities too are very limited. And there is a criteria to apply for jobs. One who falls less than 6 SGPA will not be eligible to sit for the placements. I suggest you seek jobs outside campus.

College Events

4

There is a cultural programme called Sangathan which is very good opportunity for students to carry on with their hobbies and interests. As of communication students are concerned you are given the opportunity to host shows on Radio, as well as use the amity studio for luve shows and various events. There are sevral guest lectures hosted from time to time to provide students with exposure. Few lectures have been with Ram jeh malani, Raheev sar desai, and various other eminent personalities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Okay i have got to be really honest here. At Amity they rob you like literally always. At mess too food quality is horrible but is cheap but again you have other options like Subway, dosa plaza, dominos etc in campus itself. Fee structure is insane expensive ( i still wonder why)

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not informed about it but there are options available. You can always go back to Amity's site and conclude.

Campus Life

5

Campus life at Anity is sure great. The crowd is cream of Delhi NCR that i can vouch. Also I really appreciate Amity for not discriminating against third community people too. The administrations does exceptionally well at dealing with race from across world and people from dofferent regions in India. I have friends who r homosexuals too and i really admire how nobody is discriminated and are dealt equally

Alumni/Alumna

That apparently depends on you. There are various facebook pages through which you can keep in touch ir can get in touch. They are easily approachable and are mostly helpful.

Exam Structure

Curriculum is good and due to semester system its always hectic here. One needs to be very particular about attendance (its a big isssue here at Amity) failing at which u will be debbarred and you will have to be stuck with end list no of back papers.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty however in certain subjects seems under qualified but again there are few professors who are exceptionally nice and warm and really easily approachable.

The percentage of getting placements is very low, but with the kind of environment that you get, you'll probably discover something new before you graduated and you might start working on your own or get placed earlier.
