Remarks

The best part about the college was, it was pretty friendly and understanding. They can do a lot better in terms of progress and I hope they do that and become successful :)

Entrance Preview

None. As I joined the institute as per Management Quota there was no Entrance Examination for me. Neither I sought any other Institutions.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

Bangalore, being IT hub city, the courses that VTU provided wasn't so good. Things were more based on theory than practical which became a nightmare after completing the BE. Now I heard the courses have been changed and they have internship programs in the final year. So it seems there has been some progress, but when I completed my BE it was pretty horrible.

Internships Opportunities

No. We didn't have any internship facilities. In the final year, we did have some companies which came for recruitment but weren't so good. Packages would be normally between 2-3 lacs P.A but getting into core dept. would be very hard.

Placement Experience

1

Most of the students were placed by the end of the year which they all passed but they were not into the core company with respect to their BE discipline. I believe the average package was in between 2-3 lacs PA but don't have detail information regarding that.

College Events

1.5

Odd semester would have College Festival. College Festival would be nice with good participation. It includes cultural programs along with various stage shows, internal and external gaming events. Intercollege competitions also would be organized. Even semester would have Dept. Festival. It would be based on individual departments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

College being a mid-ranged, fees were pretty feasible, to be honest. Every year they had fixed fee. Every year, I paid Rs. 70,000 which makes the total of 280,000 and for the first year, I had to pay 1,00,000 extra. Which makes the total paid amount as Rs 3,80,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you get into college via Management quota, then there was no provision for the scholarship. The fees would solely be based on the bargain that you could do. If you can bargain and convince them, they would charge you less fee else it will be more. On the basis of CET quota, then scholarship would depend on the basis of the rank.

Campus Life

2

All the department almost had equal gender ratio apart from Mechanical Department. Sadly, parties were not allowed in the college. There were few workshops based on the various subjects. The best one was in the web development when they gave the information on the servers and the connectivity. The Cultural activity would get a life during the college or department festivals. There always was the group between the south Indian students and north Indian students. Labs weren't equipped so well but were manageable. Sports activity would get a life again during the festivals.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

I had stayed in the hostel for a year. Hostel experience and management weren't so good in spite of the amount they charged. Rooms were sharing, the beds were not comfortable and had issues with bed bugs. Food wasn't good mostly. We had to relay on curd rice most of the time.

Alumni/Alumna

No. We barely have anything like alumni meet. I don't remember anyone going to juniors and talking about the experience in a formal manner.

Exam Structure

The gap of the examination was okay. University commands to conduct internal examination almost every month. The first month of the semester would be a free month. Same thing with the lab internals. After 3rd internals, External exams would knock the door.

Admission

I didn't have any intermediate for joining the college. I visited the college. I had a brief information about the college. I got the information regarding the annual fee payment and the admission charges. I then paid the fees directly to the administration. Hence I had a direct admission.

Faculty

1.5

Faculty members were average, to be honest. The level of faculty doesn't feel like Engineering level. The thing that I have noticed is, people who do good normally tries to get into their core field of work. The student who had good understanding will get into some better college even if they plan to teach and normally the left ones come and handle the small college. So it wasn't so satisfactory.

Placement Experience:

Placements at NITK Surathkal are very good overall, and the EEE department consistently sees a high percentage of students getting placed-85% to 90%+ However the placement profiles and salaries vary a lot depending on whether you go core electrical jobs , software/IT jobs we students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester companies start arriving fro pre placement talks and tests ,some students also get PPOs done in the 3rd year summer internshis companies visiting nitk for eee students are: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIEMENS ABB L&T TATA POWER BOSCH. My personal plans after getting degree is either get placed in a good company then later prepare for civils services examination.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placement on final year, they have to maintain their grad points in every semister about 8 for a good package. Even some times grade points level down in front of skills and other courses made externally, so skill development is most important. Some of the companies like Wipro, L and T, Isro, Tech mahindra, Skanray, Keynes and so on were their on campus. But our many faculties help every student who is need of a job, with every possible off campus placements. Placment department are trying their best for all skilled, top rank and low rank students for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since my kcet rank was low I want a good clg so I choose this college I choose electrical and electronics. also I'm very interested in electrical department I wanted eee branch so I choose this Curriculum actually helps you to learn and solve real world problems since it's a core branch you have to concentrate on our syllabus. We get to learn lot of things also we have 4 labs there you can learn practically . In our clg they additionally we have lab Called skill lab there you can learn lot of things additionally . I feel they should add some programming language as subject in eee additionally even though we learn that in 1st year there should be continuous so . Even our colleges provide boot camps for 10 days every sem where experienced trainer will come and teach you but I feel that's not enough they have include programming languages as our part of curriculum. In internals they provide 1hour time for for 30 marks and sem exams 3hr for 100 marks so it's manageable .
