Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is very hectic with a schedule of 9 am to 5 pm in the first year and 8 am to 5 pm or sometimes 8 pm in the subsequent years. The faculty members are great and complete the important topics on time. I chose this course because I don't think there's any course other than MBBS in which u get so much respect and self-satisfaction after studying for a long period of 4.5 yrs.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

People who score great in exams get offers from great hospitals with great salaries and more exposure to new patients. Pvt hospitals nearby like mehant indresh hospital, synergy, etc offer jobs to students in their final year.

Placement Experience

4

The college placement is in the doon hospital in which u have to complete ur internship and can continue further in the same hospital after completing the internship or can join any other hospital which offers more salary. There's no unemployment in the MBBS course which makes it more secure as u can practice in any hospital of ur choice there's a lack of doctors in every hospital or u can even opening ur own clinic/hospital if u r capable. I am too looking forward to working on my own after completing my MBBS.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fee structure is 1,45,000 per annum+ exam fees etc. There are scholarship opportunities for quota students of up to 50% rebate. The fee hike depends upon the govt and cabinet bills. Campus job includes a job in Doon Hospital in which u get a stipend of 17,000 per month during internship and 60000+ after completing MBBS.

Campus Life

3

The campus life includes all the extracurricular activities that all other colleges have with an annual fest FORNIX which includes 5 days of college activities like dance, singing, art, quiz, DJ night with celeb guests which occurs usually in Oct or Nov. The library contains all the books of mbbs curriculum which u can issue using the college id. Sports include cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, etc. There are some NGOs like mefco run by college students and some other startups too.

Admission

For admission into Govt Doon Medical College, first u have to apply for NEET entrance exam which u can give after completing ur intermediate. The syllabus for NEET includes the topics of class 11 and 12, but the competition is very tough. The syllabus of NEET is CBSE based and mainly focuses NCERT book. The application form is available on the website nta.neet.nic.in the application fees is 5000 for general category and comparatively very less for reserved students. Application dates are variable and usually are announced at the time of October and November. Since maximum seats are reserved for quota students in this college so reservation benefits are very much. The admission process is well protected and fine for any student to fill up the form but the fees for admission form should be decreased as not everyone can pay 5000 for a single form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The best part is the 50 percent objective pattern which keeps you in touch with the pg exam pattern. The exams are designed well as in its easy to pass and then there are questions that differentiate toppers ????. But overall the paper is made such that passingis never an issue if your basic concepts are clear

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevantly relevant. The curriculum provides early clinical exposure which prepares us for the real world experiences since the beginning of the course. It attracted me and i decided to choose this course. The curriculum helps us deal with the real world problems. The area where it needs to be improved is making the students learn from experience rather than making them mugup things. The course is vast and isn't easy to learn each and every thing, but via clinical exposure, students retain more and learn more.

Exams are 50 percent MCQS AND 50 percent subjective preparing us for INICET/NEET PG and USMLE at the same time. What else do you want from a med school? Also, we have 2 hours of practical classes and 3 hours of clinical posting which prepares us to face practical problems and provide immense exposure. Minor tests are held every week. Major exams are held six monthly.

I chose this course due to my interest in medical science. On an average faculty:student is 1:10. The professor is really good we understand each and every concept taught to us in a very friendly manner. The exam was not that difficult if we grasp the concept taught by our teachers.

Placement Experience:

After passing the MBBS every student is eligible for the campus placement. There are no companies that visit the college for placement because the students are placed under the government. All students are provided the pay decided by the government. 100% of students qualifying MBBS are getting placements. After getting the degree I have a plan on appearing in the NEET PG exam and after qualification, I will be doing features in any of the qualified branches.
