Course Curriculum Overview

4

Becoming a doctor is the aspiration of many students, so was I interested to get into a medical College to pursue MBBS. Though faculty by student ratio is not very impressive, the teachers are keenly interested in teaching. All the professors teaching in any medical college are not teachers by profession but doctors. Still, they try their level best to teach. They entertain every small, stupid, silly question, they are cooperative, highly qualified, and experienced. The anatomy department is too strict in all aspects like attendance requirements, semesters, viva, exams, and all. Semester exams are held rightly on time. As long as the difficulty in passing the exam is concerned, yes, it is tough, but if you are consistent and honest in your efforts, it becomes a cakewalk. So no worries about the exam.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Those completing their mbbs degree end up becoming medical officers in which they are paid somewhere around 90000 monthly. And the graduate also can open their private clinics or join other private hospitals. So doctors in a way are self-employed and not dependent on third parties.

Placement Experience

5

Doctors are never unemployed. All the doctors graduating from any medical college and up secure a decent salary and high value in society. After graduation, the doctors based on their preferences can choose to either work in government or private hospitals.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of medical Colleges of Bihar is too less, varies roughly from 15000 to 40000, for my college it was mere 16000 including lodging (hostel). Yes there are different state government schemes as well which offers scholarship for this course, it can be availed by submitting documents and a bonafide certificate in the DRCC office of the residential district. But still, since the fee is too less, anyone can afford the fee, so money is not a hurdle anyway. In an internship, in the fifth year of mbbs course, we get a stipend of 20000 rupees. And post completion of the course, every student gets either a private or government job as a doctor as per their choice. So placement is 100% and the salary to is descent, ranging from 75000 to 1.5 lakh or so.

Campus Life

3.5

There are mainly two big fests in our college, the grandiose saraswati puja and the CFD conducted in the month of August. In the college library, they literally have every book for medical and paramedical courses, the library is full AC and with all basic amenities. The classroom though very old is good and renovated, and to replace the old one in which our batch studied, there are other buildings constructed which will be functional from the next session possibly. Football and cricket tournaments are organized by senior batches and there is a healthy environment for those who are interested in sports. As a social contribution, we offer blankets, food, and tents for the homeless and underfed people of the town in winter and in case of any disaster.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Since seats of mbbs have increased but the hostels have remained the same there's a lack of hostels so, students in the first year don't get hostels. From the second year and onwards we are provided with hostels and the rooms are shared by 3 people. And in the final year and internships, we get a single room. I have been in private accommodation just near the college. And there are ample choices to choose from. The ambiance is good so are the people. The food too is very cheap but of good quality, of course, it will depend on the money spent. The hostel is also affordable ranging from 5000 to 8500 for each month including food.

Admission

To get into any medical college in India you have to take neet examination. And securing a rank so as to get a government medical seat in an MBBS course is very tough as the cut-off goes too high for even the lowest-ranked state Government Medical College. To be eligible for the course, the candidate should have opted for physics chemistry, and biology in intermediate and secured at least 60% marks in all three subjects combined. Before COVID, the application form used to come in the month of November but after covid, it has been disturbed. Testing agency conductor exam Pan India on a single day most preferably on the first Sunday of the month of May. Reservation greatly affects the cut-off marks for SC and ST categories but as long as backward classes are concerned they do not get any substantial benefits. If not every time, there are certain cases of discrepancy in the examination held by NTA each year because of its poor management and lethargic modus operandi.

The frequency of exams is a headache to be honest . There is 1 semester coming up within every 4 to 5 weeks which makes it stressful for us. Moreover the teaching methods are decent. This course is indeed a challenging one!

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a medical college, it always has an environment of focus and consciousness. I have chosen MBBS because I want to be a focused student in my life. I want a disciplined life, which is also a beauty of this course. MBBS develops you as a sincere - sensible and soft personality. In each department of our college, there are 3 to 4 teaching and non-teaching staff and our batch strength is of 170 students and there are totally more than 15 departments in MBBS course, so now you have an idea about the faculty Nad student ratio of our college. Faculty members are excellent in every department of our college be it the Undergraduate department or postgraduate department they are well qualified and renowned and they are great doctors too, they have wonderful art and experience of producing successful doctors. As a medical college, here 1st priority is study and assessment of students so exams are on time and obviously it has a difficult curriculum, which needs lots of hard work and dedication.
