Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Marketing because SIBM Pune is best known for Marketing and I had taken marketing during my under graduation from Symbiosis so I wanted to continue at the same university. Faculty-student ratio: 18:1. Qualification of the faculty: Ph.D., M.Sc., M.A, etc. Faculty review happens after the end of every semester. Final exams happen every semester i.e., after every 6 months. Exams were moderate, not too difficult.
Internships Opportunities
The role offered: Marketing Intern. Project: Creation of an Engagement campaign to mitigate churn and measure KPI. Task: Creation of Campaign, Execution of campaign, Measuring of Campaign, and mitigation of churn through KPIs.
Placement Experience
All students getting the degree are eligible for campus placements. 100% of students get placements. The average package will be 20,00,000 per annum. I plan to continue working in the corporate sector in the long term.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is at par with many top MBA colleges and the campus and amenities provided are worth it. The scholarship is also provided to top students based on merit. Hostel and mess fees can increase up to 10% every year.
Campus Life
The annual fest is Transcend and it happens around the 3rd week of January every year. There is a big library on campus and library is filled with all genres of books and journals. Availability of books was never an issue. The classrooms are well-maintained and have projectors and ACs. There's an annual sports fest conducted every year and there is also a sports committee that conducts events year-round. There is a common sports ground, a basketball court, a pool room, a table tennis room, a swimming pool, etc. There are lots of extracurriculars to do on campus. SIBM is a student-driven college and there are many clubs and committees. Examples; Sports Management Team, Aspirants Relations Team, Co-curricular Council, etc.
Hostel Facilities
There are 2 and 3 shared bedrooms. LAN cable is provided for internet access. There's a bed, desk, chair, and cupboard for every individual. Hot water is provided 2 times a day. Meal quality is very good and nonveg is provided 3 times a week. The hostel is pretty affordable for the amenities provided and registration is done online.
Admission
Eligibility: Graduate from any recognized university or Institution of national importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade. We can find the application form, fees, and dates on the SIBM website. Reservation benefits: 45% marks or equivalent grade for SC/ST at graduation level. ST cutoff for snap 38.8 percentile.
Interview Experience
I had a group discussion, written test, and Personal Interview. Interview questions were mostly personal and graduation based. Why MBA was also asked along with past projects and experiences. Group Discussion included a generic topic and everyone was given a chance to speak. For the written test, they showed us a picture and we had to interpret it and write an essay on it with limited time. To prepare for these rounds I practiced my writing skills and watched YouTube videos on how to answer interview questions. I also practiced my speaking skills on video.
