MBA at Mumbai

I chose the Retail management course because I was interested in marketing and the strength of the class is 62. The college also has other courses and the faculty is also good. The exam is on a trimester basis. We have a few permanent faculty and some are visiting. These faculties are excellent, Some of them own their firms and some of them are in very senior positions at MNCs.

There is a large number of businesses that provide college students with a summer internship program along with a generous stipend. Corporations like Nestle Capgemini Deloitte PwC EY BigBasket Schindler Morgan Stanley are examples of such businesses. It offers internships in various domains.

After 4 trimesters, students are considered qualified for campus placement. There are over 300 businesses, some of which are household brands, search as Nestle, Deloitte, EY, Schindler, and reliance, among many others. One of the advantages of attending Welingkar is that placements are handled under one umbrella, meaning that they are not limited to specific branches. The average package this year is 12.25 LPA, where the highest package is 24 LPA. Approximately 90 to 95% of the students are placed in appropriate jobs. I always wish to work in the FMCG sector.

The program fee for Retail management is 6,50,000 per year. It needs to be paid in 4 installments. The library deposit is 4000 which is refundable. The hostel fees are around 1.5 lacks to 1.7 lacks per year. Also, a security deposit of 5000 needs to be paid and it is also refundable. SBI and ICICI are just some of the banks that have partnered with the university to offer guarantor-free student loans. In terms of placement, a package of around 11.63 LPA represents a respectable return on investment. Pre-placement offers are plentiful and the summer internship placement is excellent.

Students from the " media and entertainment" class put on a cultural event known as "KARVAAN," which day was in charge of organizing and running. We have been provided with access to a digital version of the many volumes that are housed in our institution's library. "IMPACT" is the name of a cricket competition that is hosted and organized by Welingkar. The league is quite well known and it takes place every year. "KARVAA" and other cultural celebrations take place at least once a year. Students will find that it is an excellent venue to demonstrate the ability they have acquired outside of the classroom. Each department has a management committee and a placement committee, each of which is led by a general secretary and the placement secretary of that department respectively. In addition, these students of Weschool publish and manage an online magazine called "Samvad" regularly.

Welingkar has provided a sweet the 3 bhk flat for accommodation where in a flat we are 9 girls accommodating 3 students in each bedroom. The fee that has been charged for this accommodation is 2,00,000 per annum which includes the electricity bill and other utilities it does not include food or any mess service. Some students also prefer to choose to find their accommodation where they are living in a PG or any 3rd party hostel. The provided accommodation is fully furnished and equipped with all the facilities that are required but I think it is a little bit on the expensive side as compared to the market price.

I gave the entrance exam of CMAT and filled out the college form through their website. The process was cut off and then the online interview cleared it. I'm from the general category and the admission process was fine

The college does meet all of the requirements for students to be included on the merit list. The CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, and GMAT are the only entrance exam that is accepted by colleges. After that, the student who qualified for the further round will be required to compete in all of the subsequent rounds. Because every step is handled through an online platform provided by COVID, the group discussion has been replaced with a single questionnaire that covers topics such as behavior leadership situations and mental processes among others. After this the interview began, each lasting no longer than an hour at most.
