Course Curriculum Overview

Information Technology is a booming technology nowadays because it has many job opportunities. The faculty is highly qualified because they are government staff and the student ratio is around 3:10. The teaching method is also excellent and students are made to learn on their own and not spoon-fed. There are three unit tests for a semester and a model examination followed by which the main examination is conducted.

Internships Opportunities

There are many startups that give internship opportunities to students. Roles are software intern, full stack developer, data analyst, data scientist, marketing intern, frontend developer, and content writer. There are many projects carried out.

Placement Experience

From the 6th semester, we can attend placements. Many companies like Zoho, Bosch, Viasat, Aspire Systems, Amazon, and IBM. The highest package is around 20 LPA and the lowest is 4 LPA. Around 90% of students are placed. I am going to work in a company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study at the Government College of Technology is really low. It's like only 10000 for a year and 11000 for hostel fees. FFE, Siemens and Alumni scholarships are some of the scholarships available.

Campus Life

There are two cultures conducted in both odd and even semesters. Almost all the books are available in the library with IEEE access. Smartboards and projectors are available in classrooms. GCT sports and extracurricular activities is a student-initiated things. There are several clubs like the Rotaract club, Literary, and Debating Society, Tamil Mandram, Students Journalist Council, Asphaltars, etc.

Admission

As this is a government institution, one cannot easily apply for the college. The admission is through counseling process where students have to give their preferred college and course. Based on caste and cut-off, the college is allocated.

Overall Good Experience at EEC

Likes

good infrastructure, clean campus and well equipped classrooms and labs.
Faculty members are supportive and explain concepts clearly with practical examples.
Good placement opportunities, career guidance and opportunities to participate in activities.

Dislikes

The workload can be huge sometimes, especially during examinations and project submissions.
some subjects could include more practical and industry-oriented learning
More campus activities and student interactions opportunities would improve campus life.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

An average of more than 90% of rhe students were placed during my term. Companies like amazon, juspay, adobe, hcl, cts, tcs, adp etc came and there are 500 companies that visisted our campus during my batch

Sathyabama is value for money

the classrooms in specialization are air conditioned
faculty is supportive for academic growth

Dislikes

the attendance is strict at 75% and subject attendances upto 80%
you cannot exit campus before 3.15 pm under any circumstances

Placement Experience:

The placements are very decent and they provide internships as early career opportunities as well in 3rd year of studies and the college possess high conversion rates through these internships which support the resume with actual corporate exposure

This is the best college overall

Likes

The curriculum provided is really nice and understandable.
It is relevant and is effective as well.
The boy girl ratio is on the other hand a little less as in 45:15.

Dislikes

The way some facilities behave with students is really bad especially in our branch.
Some facilities are too rude and they often don’t want to listen to students point of view

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

At 8th semester the students can become eligible for campus placement and the companies visited more oftens are win etc the highest packages about 25 LP and average packers about 2.5 lpa percentage of students getting placement is above 80 percentage.

High fees the government college but charging high fees making it difficult for students from lower income background to access quality education

The thing I most liked is the campus the infrastructue

As of my information the placements are pretty decent..first the placements used to take place in Vellore campus but I guess jow they have started here as well ..as of my opinion the placement stars from the 7th semester

Placement Experience:

From 5 th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. Lots of companies. The highest package is 26 lakhs and the average package is 1.5 lakhs. 98% of students get placed. Doing my best in a career as an entrepreneur.

Academic, campus life & beyond
