Remarks

Anyone who has finished 12th is eligible for this course. Students can join the college only using the TNEA. TNEA is the general counseling for Tamilnadu. 500 application fees and we can apply after our board results. Only students of Tamilnadu can enter TNEA and some exceptional cases.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was very much interested in mechanical engineering. 1:40 faculty-student ratio. Teachers here are one of the most qualified staff. Only the top ranking in the TNEA exam can qualify here. Term exams are conducted regularly after 1 or 1 and a half months.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 12000 per year

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for placements by the 7th semester. Top companies like Titan, Infosys, tafe , cognizant, Zoho, TCS, and one bill visit our college. The highest salary is 13lpa. The average salary is 5lpa. Almost all students get placed. Some students who opt for higher studies are mostly unplaced. I'm also looking for a higher degree in the future.

Fees and Financial Aid

College fees are 6k, Hostel fees are 6k, Mess fees are monthly 2k, and Exam fees are 2k approximately. Government College of Technology, Coimbatore is one of the cheapest colleges in the country. You can finish your B.Tech in less than 1lakh here. Also, many scholarships are present.

Campus Life

Muthamizh vizha is an annual cultural festival. The departmental function of various departments is conducted regularly. Department function of the mechanical department is pretty famous. Cricket, football, and volleyball all are present. All clubs are run by students.

Is VIT worth it

Placement Experience:

Placements in VIT UNIVERSITY is very good the average package is 8 lakhs and the Highest may go upto 1 crore every year.There is a separate placement cell in VIT chennai and they give you placement training from start of the third year. Many multinational companies like google, microsoft etc comes to VIT to pick students for their company. Almost 98 percent of the students gets places in VIT. After my degree I choose to sit for placements.

A detailed review on GCT Coimbatore - Most affordable college of Asia.

In the admission process i applied only for government colleges like anna university chennai, gct coimbatore, gce salem, thiagaraja college madurai like that. Because i cant afford private college, among these government colleges gct coimbatore remains my first choice and got the admission in there. The main reason of choosing this college is affordable fee structure and good placement statistics. The admission process for government colleges are purely through Counselling process, there is no management quota. Based on our 12 th mark, a cutoff for 200 marks will be calculated. In this 100 marks from maths and 50 from physics and 50 from chemistry will be accounted. Then a rank list will be released based on this cutoff mark incl all applicants, it is called general rank list. There will be other rank list like community rank list where the rank will be grouped by community such as BC, MBC, SC/ST. Every college will release a seat matrix based upon their vacancy. Student have to fill a choice list based on their interest. And based on the rank, the software will check the vacancy for seats in the choice order and finally college is alloted.
