We love our college, studies, faculties, facilities, management and the campus.

We were supposed to give an entrance test named as DAT (Design Aptitude test) which carried all the qualitative, quantitative, Literature, General Knowledge and Designing aspects. I scored well and managed to clear it. GD Goenka is offering us a degree and not a diploma and has given us the opportunity to explore more , and has an collaboration with Politecnico Di Milano.

The course is masterly. We are taught many subjects, every semester has different subjects. The course involves Photography, styling, sketching, designing, management, law, etc (which includes electives i.e the optional subjects like visual merchandising, textiles, etc) . we are supposed to select an Indisciplinary Project whose base could be from any of the subjects which we are interested in.

Yes, The University provides us with internships in companies, brands, under designers, export houses, etc. The general stipend depends upon the work done by and the skills of the interns.

There were many of the senior colleagues who got placed in really good companies. The companies which came to the university were BIBA, Benetton, Asmara, Saks, Niket Mishra, Aakaro, Divyam Mehta , etc in the fashion Design field .Product designers had an option for Whirlpool, Godrej, Adidas, Desmania, TJ Moto, Sahil & Sarthak etc. Interiors students have attracted an eclectic range including Fabfurnish, Zeppelin Design , Yellowboard studio, Kiran Khanna Architects, Biba VM, Webe Design Lab, Kiran Khanna Architects and Kothari and Associates.Some creative companies on the other hand have attracted communication students. They Safetycart.com, Cravants, Treeative, ios, Millionbirds, PMD studios and Frog Walks Out etc.

The events held happen on a big platform. 1.Le Cordon Bleu School Of Hospitality, GD Goenka University had organised the Italian Theme Luncheon. 2.MTV Dropout Auditions at GD Goenka University. 3.SoFD visited Dastkar “The Summer Weaves” Exhibition. 4.International Design conference named as CODE 5.SPORTOPIA the inter college sports competition. 6.REDSET is an international conference of science held every year 7.ACCELERON the biggest event that happened, which included sunburn by many DJs and Badshah, etc.

The fee structure is expensive but affordable. The semester fee is around 1,30,000 excluding hostel, transport,etc. The course is a 4 year one. The travel is reasonable as it is far away . The debarred fee of a subject is very expensive i.e 5k per sub.

Merit-based scholarship at the time of admission for UG Programmes: Academic Fee Scholarship for the first year will be offered to the candidates.Sports based scholarship at the time of admission as per recognising their talent, sports person are offered Academic Fee Scholarship for the first year. The collaboration with Italy offers scholarship to those who score well

The college is always social. Sports competitions, debates, literary competitions, face painting competitions, Dj shows on festivals, halloween celebrations, talent shows , workshops and many more events happening in the campus itself are very heart warming as it is essential for us to divert our minds after studies .

Hostel facilities are very amusing. Its considered as a 5star hostel and the mess food is too good and keeps care for the health freaks.Purpose-built, centrally air-conditioned residences (separate for boys & girls) provide around 500 rooms for undergraduates and postgraduates. Ensuite rooms; with attached bath (facility of hot & cold water) and study-rooms can be shared between 2 or 4 students. The common room shared between 4 or 8 students comes complete with a service unit, a Plasma TV and a refrigerator. All our accommodation is well furnished and maintained to a high standard. All rooms have network ports and high speed network/internet access. Bed linen and blankets or duvets are also provided. LAN and wi-fi internet connections are available in all areas, recognising the need students for connectivity.

The seniors are really helpful, we all have a good bond of friendship and an understanding amongst us. maybe, because of the signed agreement against ragging, no just kidding. They are beautiful souls to have them in our lives.

The exam structure of the university is very relevant. We have to undergo theoretical exams, Practical exams and a Jury in which we are to put up each and every work done in the semester. The schedule is so relaxing as we get a week for every exam , as the practical needs more time.

I surfed online the top colleges into designing, which had GD Goenka of course listed under. I filled the registration form online and got a mail from the management regarding the same on the day itself. A date was decided thereafter by the management, The DAT and the interview were taken on the same day.

The faculty is highly qualified and responsible enough to teach us . we are allotted personal mentors for our betterment who also help us with personal issues. The ambience of the college is homely . They realise the strategic importance of design for national and industrial competitiveness , therefore they help us with the industry experience too.
