Remarks

College management doesn't give enough funds for extra curricular activities or sports less ofnumber wash rooms that too not properly maintained. Library doesn't get updated with new edition books regularly. We don't have wifi access in our college where

Entrance Preview

We went through ap EAMCET entrance examination. I got score around 140 out of 160. As guntur medical college is one of the oldest & prestigious government medical college with more number of outpatients i opted this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course curriculum and faculty of our college is better than most of the colleges in our state.

Internships Opportunities

yes there is compulsory 1 year internship for medical students after completion of mbbs 4 &half years . the stipend is around rs 10000 there is more scope of learning but we don't get to learn much as we are asked to perform duties of nurses ( injections, dressings etc ) more and we get less time to assist our senior doctors in operation theatres.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placements, job opportunities are good. This is a good college with more number of outpatients and academics are also good. So more chances of learning and getting jobs and post graduation seats.

College Events

0.5

Fresher's day, college day, teacher's day, independence day, republic day are celebrated but college doesn't spend much on these events. Students participation is very less.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is low and very much feasible. the hostel rooms are good in new block. The old block is closed as it is not in good condition 1 room accommodates 2 students the hostel is 4 kms away from college. The average room rent per person is around 900 rs . The mess fees per month is around 3200 rs which is higher compared to other government hostels.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availabled any scholarship or loans but merit scholarship was provided by gmcana to economically backward merit students government also provided scholarship or fees reimbursement to poor students.

Campus Life

1.5

In our batch gender ratio was equal i.e. 50:50 but in recent batches there are more number of girls than boys. there are very few parties . There is wide range of social diversity as students from different parts of state study here sports & extra curricular activities are very few. The management doesn't spend much on sports & doesnt conduct sports day annually regularly.

Hostel Facilities

1

The hostel rooms are good in new block. The old block is closed as it is not in good condition 1 room accommodates 2 students. the hostel is 4 kms away from college. The average room rent per person is around 900 rs . The mess fees per month is around 3200

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very much friendly in each & every aspect. They were very much helpful during exams they guided us how to study, concentrate more on which topics.

Placement Experience:

There is no such thing as campus placement in medical courses.. we are provided with internship with the linked hospital with an approximate stipend of 30k per month for a year and after that we receive the course completion certificate and we can either practice in a clinic or pursue the post graduation upon our interests..

Firstly i wanted to become a doctor. I was firstly afraid of joining in this college as it is new one and the college admission is mainly based on merit so not much of option i got. I got a all india rank of around 17000 and state rank of 1049 . Now i got md general medicine in kurnool medical college. So it gives you great knowledge for the seeking. Yearly one final with practicals and 3 internals which are easy one if you study moderate ly also .
