Remarks

College is average but towards the good. The infrastructure is not upto to the mark and the college environment is quite good but just keep away from locals as much as possible and you shall not have any issues

Entrance Preview

I wrote karnataka CET exam to get into this college. My ranking was around 34k. So according to my entries i got into this college. I dint particularly opt for this college it was out of luck i got it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is based on VTU curriculum and is not updated to mordern technology but to get a basic idea about the different fields and to get to.know our personal interest so that we could study further in the interested field. In the first we have all subjects common so its fine. I dont know about the electives yet so once i get into it will surely update

Internships Opportunities

No college does not offer in campus internships. However you could search for internships and approach the HOD of concerned department and it will work out.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are taking growth over the years. From the time i joined till now there is lot of advancement and definately by the time i graduate it will be many more companies. ALTOUGH placements for mechanical are few they have good opporunities for EC,CS and IS comparetively. The packages vary starting from 2.6 lacs upto 14.4 lacs. And companies like TCS, Tech mahindra, amazon, flipkart and many more.

College Events

3.5

College celebrates festivals like ganesh chaturthi, onam, durga pooja and a few other. In addition to that college has their own fest called which was conducted recently where other colleges participate. Even there are department fests. So there are many opportunities for those who want to showcase their talents and some can showoff their management skills in organizing

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fees is quite reasonable compared to the facilities provided which are not upto the mark. But if its all about getting a degree and only studies then its worth it. But if its about experiencing bangalore life then definately not a place to be very far from the happenning city

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships offered by the college and reduction in fees for some cuttoff percentage. I am not sure about the loan facility because i have not availed for it but definately if you enquire there must be some provision for loans.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is not as expected in an engineering college where you dream of acres of campus. This college is very small and if your looking for college campus life deginately not a place. You will find people from many different countries studying here and everyome is treated equally. There are a few opportunities for sports and other activities but the students should find out and make the arrangements to participate the college will provide back support but will not inform about event. Students should take initiative for it.

Hostel Facilities

3

They have 3 boys hostel out which 2 hostels have common toilets and bathrooms which is a little uncomfortable and the advantage is it is just 20 steps from the college. The other hostel is 3 kms from the college and has individual washrooms and is equipped with some what good facilities for the price. College has transport facility between college and the hostel and its on timely basis so if you miss it you have to find your way back by other means. The hostel food to all the hostel including girls is the same and for the amount we are paying i find it ok altough sometimes tasteless or sometimes very tasty but cant expect much when your planning hostel life

Alumni/Alumna

The college does not have any alumni association till now because i did not see any pass outs visit the college again. Talking about seniors every one is friendly altough you might some pricks somewhere best thing is to ignore such people and college is very strict about ragging so not to worry about it.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is quite.good not hectic. Every month there are internal assesments conducted for theory subjects and for labs its end of the semester. After every assesment we have to submit assignments so i dint find it very hectic if we manage time efficiently and play alittle smart

Admission

Since i was a CET candidate i hate to pay the CET prescribed fee and got a admission ticket which i submitted in the college. The college too had some miscellaneous fees and i received a booklet on payment of those fees and my admission was confirmed

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is definately the best . The staff is all very friendly and helpfull to their full potential. They are ready to go out of their way to help their and that is what i admire of this institution. Teachers here teach lofe lessons as well so definately worth it in the corporate world

Placement Experience:

Placements at NITK Surathkal are very good overall, and the EEE department consistently sees a high percentage of students getting placed-85% to 90%+ However the placement profiles and salaries vary a lot depending on whether you go core electrical jobs , software/IT jobs we students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester companies start arriving fro pre placement talks and tests ,some students also get PPOs done in the 3rd year summer internshis companies visiting nitk for eee students are: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIEMENS ABB L&T TATA POWER BOSCH. My personal plans after getting degree is either get placed in a good company then later prepare for civils services examination.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placement on final year, they have to maintain their grad points in every semister about 8 for a good package. Even some times grade points level down in front of skills and other courses made externally, so skill development is most important. Some of the companies like Wipro, L and T, Isro, Tech mahindra, Skanray, Keynes and so on were their on campus. But our many faculties help every student who is need of a job, with every possible off campus placements. Placment department are trying their best for all skilled, top rank and low rank students for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since my kcet rank was low I want a good clg so I choose this college I choose electrical and electronics. also I'm very interested in electrical department I wanted eee branch so I choose this Curriculum actually helps you to learn and solve real world problems since it's a core branch you have to concentrate on our syllabus. We get to learn lot of things also we have 4 labs there you can learn practically . In our clg they additionally we have lab Called skill lab there you can learn lot of things additionally . I feel they should add some programming language as subject in eee additionally even though we learn that in 1st year there should be continuous so . Even our colleges provide boot camps for 10 days every sem where experienced trainer will come and teach you but I feel that's not enough they have include programming languages as our part of curriculum. In internals they provide 1hour time for for 30 marks and sem exams 3hr for 100 marks so it's manageable .
