Remarks
I have mixed reviews for LNCT Indore and I believe being LNCtian I am very happy to be the part of this college, I learned a lot in my college life and whatever I am somewhere just because of LNCT, I see some area of improvements and I believe it's good to improve some basic facilities, course curriculum, teach which will help any student to grow in their respective careers, so they can judge and understand their fields much better. Management should improve the product and service instead of doing just an educational business, each and everyone should contribute and it's management job to provide good facilities and help students in each and every aspects.
Entrance Preview
I am LNCT Alumni and I took MPPET in 2004, At that time we don't have smart phones and smart options, I was more than an average guy and I got as per my skills. At that time LNCT established the college in Indore and I did not want to go out of Indore for Engineering, So I thought out of the odds the LNCT will be a good choice and best option out of other newly opened colleges. I heard that the LNCT Bhopal is doing quite good in the field and same will be applicable in LNCT Indore, Campus Drive was Okay and few good companies came to our college for the open campus drive (i:e LTI(L&T), Birla, Convergys, IFlex)
Course Curriculum Overview
It was Quite okay but could be much better. If you are a computer science student and most of the time you are reading and learning about Electrical and Electronics then what is the point. You are doing engineering for your future career and for a CSE student I believe you should have good practical knowledge with ample theoretical knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
No is my answer and Training and placement cell was not that much actively capable, no proper guidance was available at the time, I am giving my honest review and it is true that there was no option for any summer internship.
Placement Experience
Like I mentioned few good companies came to our college, It was newly established still few companies shown interest in our college, It was a college gimmick or publicity I am not sure but after that few more good companies came to our college. Few of the talented and eligible candidates appeared for INFOSYS, KPIT and got selected. I am from that 2008 batch and I was heavily impacted due to the recession at that time.
College Events
College organized few events and that too from our own money, I remember that college sponsored First-year party and then one or two events and that it, If you want to celebrate you have to do it by your own, nowadays college is well established and I do understand that being from the First Batch you have to suffer a lot.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For me and for our batch in the year 2004, Fee structure was affordable and nominal, College tuition fees were around 30k and including other miscellaneous fee and bus fee grand total was around 45k per year. College book bank facilities were included in the fee structure, for our batch fee structure were feasible.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am not aware as I belong to General Category, But yes as per the government rule any OBC/ST/SC candidate can get fee refund from the government. As per my knowledge college didn't provide any such facilities.
Campus Life
Not that good because like I mentioned It was newly established and at that time we were running out of facilities, Lab was newly setup but after proper setup has been done, we got more than average amount of facilities from our college. Labs were good with WIFI and good configuration systems, College organized few Volleyball and Cricket events and few Kho-kho events. Robotronicx were founded by LNCT alumni and it is doing really well in the field of robotics.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel was shared by two colleges and now, we do have our own hostel with some ample facilities, including court for volleyball and football. The Hostel has 3 stories with 10 rooms in each floor with Cafeteria and connected to nearby hospital and highway.
Alumni/Alumna
I am the most senior alumni and my advice is for the fresh talent is choose your career wisely, college is just a platform and if you are quite focused and have thirst to learn then you can do much better in any college, I do understand that college should be good and should provide some standard level of comfort and education to the students, so study hard as it is your career and you should be serious about it, you have to choose your field of interest wisely and should know where you can do well and want to achieve your goals,You learn most in your life only in College and apart from education you surrounding environment matters a lot, After your result visit the eligible colleges and do your ground work, ask as many question when you visit any college and check the college history.
Exam Structure
8 Semesters, 4 years and per semester 3 exams including the final exam. We had a Semester system and per year there were 2 semesters including Unit test and PUT exams and practicals, apart from theoretical exams we have to take External and Internal exams including practicals and lab sessions
Admission
Nowadays there is only One common test called IIT Mains, in our time I got admission based on my percentage and rank, I took MPPET Exam and based on my rank I got counseling call and I took LNCT CSE. To appear in counseling you I paid 1000 INR for the counseling and 9000 INR Demand draft to book my seat in counseling, after the confirmation of seat I had to go to the college to pay rest of the yearly fee. As per my knowledge, yearly fees which I paid was total 40k and 5k for the bus service.
Faculty
Few of the Faculty members were Awesome, rest was good for nothing. I encountered some really great talented faculty members in my college, At that time University was not focused and allowed recently graduated students to apply for the lecturer job. Nowadays that culture has changed and you should be at least hold an ME or M.tech Degree to apply for the job.
