Remarks
The place is a hill station. So it's really cold. There is an ambulance incase of any emergency. You can shape your career anyway you want here in this college. You can end up in any extreme. Nobody will force you to study here but you got every resource
Entrance Preview
I had written MAT and scored 70 percentile way back in 2009 when I got admission in DCSMAT. I chose MBA over PGDM as it was approved by university.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum was based on MG University syllabus. Specialisations offered was finance, marketing and HR with the option of selecting dual specialisations.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is for two months and there wasn't any stipend offered and we had to find our own projects. In case we are not able to find any, the college's placement cell would help us to find one. You gave to prepare and finalise a report within these two month's time.
Placement Experience
Companies recruited included Mathrubhumi, More retailer, karvy, vasan eye care etc. Compensation offered at the time ranged from 2 lack a year to 4 lack a year at the time.
College Events
Luminance (management meet) yuvajanotsavam, quizzes etc. Apart from these the college has many active clubs which are managed and executed by the students. Each club would have students as it's active members. All the cultural and Co curricular activities were conducted by these clubs.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very transparent and it changes with every new batch. The fee including hostel facilities laptop and mess in the years 2009 to 2011 was 4 lakh. Which in my opinion was very decent at the time.
Fees and Financial Aid
There were none as per my knowledge. Every admission was on basis of merit only. Loan facilities were offered by banks but the college offers no help in this regard.
Campus Life
The campus experience was unmatched to anything that I had imagined. The college is on top of a mountain middle of a jungle. It's like cut off from civilization. Yet you have every thing from 24/7 electricity to wifi.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities were really good. You will find no fans in rooms as it's very cold there. The hostel offers two sharing and 3 sharing options. The room is spacious enough for 3 people. There will be 3 tables in the room if you opt for three sharing.
Alumni/Alumna
We often get invited for alumni events. Many of the campus placements offered at college were offered with the help of it's robust alumni network. But on saying that there has to be much improvement in this regard.
Exam Structure
Apart from university exams there weren't many internal exams. The college in principle follows a case study approach. Every theory is taught basing on a real life case study.
Faculty
Most of the facilities at the time was IIM trained. Many of the old facilities have moved on to other colleges. Prof Rama Bharatha Varma is the most prolific of all. The faculty of the college is well trained and had an in depth knowledge of the subjects.
