Truth About GEC Raipur

I applied through a site named Directorate of Technical Education, Chhattisgarh. There is a entrance exam to secure a seat in GEC named CGPET but at my time covid was there so we were admitted without an entrance exam but on the basis of 12th percentage. If we talk about eligibility then the student must have a Chhattisgarh domicile and he/she must have given CGPET and scored a good rank which is required for admission to GEC Raipur. The application can be seen on the DTE site and all other information can also be seen there. Reservation was not applied in my case so I can't tell you much about it. The application process was smooth enough so I don't think that any requirement is needed.

I choose the Btech course as I always wanted to be an Engineer and was very much fascinated with it. The faculty-student ratio is good but there should be more faculty. Faculties are well qualified and are given the position by giving an examination but their teaching method is not that good. They should give more knowledge to kids for their future and use some interesting methods to teach. Most of the Faculty have done Ph.D. and the rest have done their Post graduation from good colleges. Term exams or semester exams are in every 6 months and apart from that, we have 2 Class tests. The difficulty level is not that much and one can pass if he/she has studied at gate academy.

Talk about the campus placement so it is not at much good for the campus and the number of companies visited on our campus is not much mentioned on the site as well as not been told by our teachers so we don't know about that and the average package packages around 4 lakh as per my knowledge and highest is around 12 lakh. The percentage of students getting placed in on-campus placement is very less and my plan after getting the degree is to apply for off-campus placement in any IT company.

Fees are very less as it is a Government institute and for girls, it is almost zero as there are no tuition fees but just 1790 Rs for extracurricular things and for boys also it is very less and there is no hike in fees, OBC, SC, ST are benefited with a scholarship from college so their fees are also considered as zero. Some of the companies which hire on campus are Teched, TCS, Glubosoft, etc and the salary they give is around 4 lakh per year.

Campus Life is good and some annual fests are Avesh, Aayam and I don't know the month in which they are conducted as from the past 2 years it is not been conducted. There are a lot of books available in the library and the classrooms have ACs and a very good arrangement. A lot of clubs in the college and there is a sports club as well so extracurricular activities happen on the campus Language oriented club is there and also CFC Is there for coding purposes also there is a sports club that is run by students. Also, NSS group which is run by students and some faculty members is also a part of it so these are a few groups and clubs which are part of GEC.
