Remarks
It was a mix of good and bad. But this was my only college, so, I would say I enjoyed it a lot.
Entrance Preview
The entrance exam was RPET 2010. My RPET Rank was 1800. I opted out for this college because it was present in my hometown.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not up to date with the current standards. But a majority of Indian Engineering colleges face this issue. I was happy with the way we were taught here. The books given were good in quality as well as were in good condition. We had regular lab hours. Concepts were taught well by the lab assistants.
Internships Opportunities
Yes. The college provides internship for research purposes. I don't have much idea about the stipend though.
Placement Experience
My year of passing, 2014, was a horrible year for placements in this college. No company from core electronics branch came for placements. Only a few IT companies came which too didn't take many students. Most of the students got placements through Pool campus placements held in other colleges.
College Events
Every year we used to have an event called "Tech fest" but there was nothing technical in that. It was actually a cultural fest including but not limited to these events: 1. Dance Competition - Solo / Group 2. Singing Competition - Solo / Group 3. Skits 4. Stand up comedy 5. Drawing / Crafts etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college fee is pretty affordable. My total engineering cost around 2,00,000 rupees. Around 50,000 per year.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was good but the same repeated questions were asked year in and year out. All you had to do for getting marks was to fill out sheets. The greater the number of sheets you filled, more the marks you got. Practical exams were a little better but not by a far stretch.
Admission
1. I wrote the RPET 2010 exam. 2. Got my rank after a month. 3. Then I filled out a list of colleges and engineering branches of my choice. 4. Got my 2nd preferred choice on the basis of my rank. 5. Then I had to submit my education documents along with the first year fee in the college office. That is all.
Faculty
The permanent faculty members were all highly qualified. But at the same time, they didn't quite give a damn about whether the concepts they're teaching stuck with the students or not. The guest faculty members who worked full time were generally good and helpful.
