Remarks

All in all, the college is a great place to be in terms of academics, campus life, extra curriculars, proximity to city, faculty support, Placements and Alumni network. It would definitely rise to top 10 colleges of India if it continues growing at the same pace.

Entrance Preview

AIEEE, Ranked AIR 10696, I chose MANIT over other college because of its strength in Placements, Great faculties and good campus environment. Its campus is huge and located in the heart of the city.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

he course is very structured with standard curriculum of NIT being followed. 1st year is generic with brief focus on all the subjects. From 2nd year the course is research focussed and the faculties also promote students to spend more time in labs learning by experiments. Faculties also support in getting internships in good companies like BHEL, NTPC etc.

Internships Opportunities

The college do provide internship to students. Faculties help in getting internships through their networks. The stipend is generally good and varies from company to company.

Placement Experience

5

The placements are very good. Almost all core branches get 100% placement. Some branches like Computer Science and IT even get more than 100% placement. The package varies from 3.5 Lacs to 18 Lacs. The companies like Microsoft, Facebook, C Dot visit along with many automobile companies like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors etc.

College Events

5

There are various societies in the college like Rotract club, Dance society, Literary Society, Technical society etc. and they keep on organizing various events year through. The most notable are Technosearch- The Tech Fest and Maffick- The cultural fest

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is at par with other NITs. The recent revision by Govt. Has brought the fees to around 125000 Rupee per year. This fees has been well utilized by the college in buildings and infrastructure. The college now has enough hostels and facilities for sports etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has certain scholarships for reserved class. However, i am not aware of the loan facility. But since study loans are easily available from banks these days, i don't think that this would be a problem. Having said that, there are other scholarship of central govt. like the Central Sector Scholarship which is of great help to students

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life: awesome.huge campus with lush green environment located in the heart of the city. Gender ratio is good and there is also a great amount of cultural diversity. Students from across India come here to study. Also,as said earlier, the college offers great opportunity for extra curricular activities due to large no.of societies and equal support from faculties.

Hostel Facilities

5

There are a lot of hostels now and there is a separate hostel for girls and the NRIs. The mess facilities are awesome with mess workers being very friendly and easily yielding to the demands of students for whatever choice of food they have. They serve both veg and non veg.

Alumni/Alumna

I had a college senior in my current organization who has guided me in the interview process and helped me crack the interview. The alumni support is great in bringing companies for campus placements. Being an Institution of National Importance, we have pan India alumni network

Exam Structure

The exam are semester wise. The curriculum is designed in such a way that it gives you ample amount of time for doing lab experiments along with your academics. Class tests are taken regularly after certain period to keep you up with the completed syllabus

Admission

Admission process is through AIEEE. You have to appear in the exam. The cut off is around AIR 18000. The notification for AIEEE form is released around December and exam is conducted in May. The results are announced in June and counselling is done in July.

Faculty

5

The faculty is extremely enthusiastic about teaching the students and they always are there whenever you need them whether after classes or during holidays. They are very approachable and pay attention to details. Most of the faculties have doctorates in there core subjects.

After completing the four-year degree, the college does provide placement, but I don’t know much about it yet because I haven’t seen many companies visiting the college. So far, I’ve only seen four or five companies. There aren’t any major companies coming in. Also, when placements happen, it’s unclear how many students got placed, how many didn’t, what the packages were, or what the highest package was. From what I’ve seen, the placement seems to be average at best.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum followed by the college is slightly old in comparision to iits and nits but it is better than most of the remaining colleges. But the curriculum could be improved. The curriculum is based on more theoretical approach and less practical approach for some branches. The teaching methodology is good . Teachers use smart boards if they need. The frequency of the exams and msts are good but they also include demo which makes it hectic.
