Remarks
You have to apply for the CUCET exam which is a compulsory entrance cum scholarship test. 30 marks out of 100 are the passing criteria and above that, you will get a scholarship according to the marks you get and the time you apply(phase 1 or phase 2). After the results are out, you have to make a payment of a minimum of 10000 Rs (for Indian students) to secure your seat at the university. You have to submit your documents online, and later in physical copy in the admission office, when you physically visit the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum has shown a drastic improvement from 2021, they improved the curriculum for the first-year CSE students (I don't know about the other branches) by changing subjects like disruptive technology which gives us knowledge about the many technologies which are useful in the future. We were taught C, C++, and Python in our first year as part of the curriculum. Faculty members are mostly good, there are a few who are very strict with their teachings and some who are not liked by any student but overall they are good. Even my HOD was friendly at times and helped resolve doubts of students both academic and course-related.
Placement Experience
The official website has more and better information than I in this regard, but I have heard about the placements not only from the website but also from people face to face. There is a person in my hostel who got an internship at Google (London branch). The placements mentioned on the websites are the maximum placement. And not every student achieves that. You have to work hard in order to achieve that. Don't get swayed away from the path you want to take.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for BE-CSE with no specialization was 90000 per semester in 2021 and will remain the same throughout all 8 semesters who took admission in 2021, it has increased by 10000 in 2022 but scholarships can be availed, the easiest way to get a scholarship is the CUCET exam which is also compulsory. Don't worry if you got a low score in CUCET (but passed at least), because there are many more merit-based scholarships, for example, if you got 90% and above in your board exams in 12th, you can avail yourself 40-50% scholarship. More information about scholarships is available on their official website.
Campus Life
There are many events and activities planned throughout the year including academic as well as events for enjoyment. 2 basketball courts are present on the campus, there is also a volleyball court, a track for running, jogging, etc. and the sports complex is also close to the education blocks. There are many websites managed by different clubs and individuals. I should mention that there is a website that will show you your pending fee, timetable, event logs, student care services, online library, etc. and every student will be given credentials after taking admission.
Hostel Facilities
I availed hostel facility and the fee at that time was 90000 per year including the mess fee. It has increased by 10000 this year. To register, there was a number available on the website I mentioned before (uims.cuchd.in is the website) regarding the hostel facility, you just have to tell that you want to register, and tell your roll number (everyone has a unique alphanumerical roll number). Then the option to pay the hostel fee will reflect in your account, pay it, and you are done. The mess facility is good (except for the chapatis, sometimes they are hard). They give a variety of food daily. The thing common in food is Roti, sabzi, rice, and dal. The type of dal and sabzi changes daily. Sometimes (once or twice a week and no fices days) they give sweets (gulab jamun or chocolate) with dinner. If one doesn't want to eat from the mess a day (for a change of taste or something), there are many other places to eat or drink (shakes, coffee, tea, aerated drinks, fruit juice, etc.).
