So the process for admissions in any MBA course from any business school requires you to clear and have CAT, MAT, OR GMAT score or any other such competitive scores. I took CAT and cleared the cutoff marks that make me eligible to apply for tier2 colleges since my score was 79 percentile. I don't have any reservation benefits with me and the admission process was simple and clear, once you have a score you need to find the colleges that will accept the students falling under a certain score range. For instance, in my case, I shortlisted a few colleges after going through their website and reading their cutoff for MBA, while I was going through this I saw Amrita school of business was offering a dual degree course wherein I was getting MBA along with MS from a renowned college in USA that is SUNY, University at Buffalo, NY. Also, they asked for a CAT score above the 60 percentile so I was qualified to apply there and likewise, I applied and that was followed by shortlisting by the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course (MBA-MS) because I wanted to step into the corporate world with the right knowledge and skill set that a business course could only offer. This college has the right faculty-to-student ratio along with visiting faculties being called from time to time. Faculties have their way of teaching, mostly I joined when the pandemic came so the presentation method was used mostly and a review of Harvard journals and case studies solving method is encouraged. All the faculties at ASB, Bangalore are qualified Ph.D. holders. Our MBA is trimester based and a year is divided into three sets after three months of the first trimester, we have to. pass an exam. There are exams, assignments, case presentations, quizzes, and other such activities that make up a whole marking system.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Again due to the pandemic situation we were at our home location and therefore for internships as well could not move to Bangalore or other locations. But we got internships to offer from companies in college and companies such as ICICI Bank, Bajaj Capital, Outlook, etc took students for two months of internship. Apart from that some of us could find internships on our own.

Placement Experience

4

When it comes to placements in MBA, students become eligible from the 5th trimester (a total of six trimesters are there) which is in the second year. And again it was a pandemic situation so our batch had an online placement process wherein the college had its system of shortlisting and making students aware of which companies they can apply to. (their website and stuff ). But even after the pandemic situation, our college could manage to get decent companies and the average salary was 5 lakh per annum. The highest package offered was 14 lakh per annum but the highest package that a student could convert was 12.5 lakh per annum. Companies like PwC, BNY Mellon, Deloitte, Ingersoll Rand, Federal Bank, Oracle, TCS, HCL, IDBI, Cognizant, Infosys, Mphasis, Indegene, Whatfix, KredX, Hafele India, Skit.ai, Intellipaat, ICICI Securities, etc. offered jobs and our students got in all the mentioned companies. I got placed in Ingersoll rand and I am the only selection from our college

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is understandable and the tuition fee is 1200000, apart from that if you avail for hostels then you have to pay. I was staying out so I am not aware of the hostel fee, but the mess food is decent and you have a canteen facility as well. You can get an internship at college only or you can assist some professors as well. Apart from that you have a lot of opportunities apart from internships and that is participating in their program called LIVE IN LABS, wherein you can be a part of the social work that the institution does.

Campus Life

3.5

So, we were the corona batch (not so lucky but lucky). And because of that one and a half years of my college life happened at home itself and online classes were the new normal. But for the last five months, we could go to college and learn real things in college. We have had a virtual fest conducted successfully by our engineering students and management students named AYKYA. Apart from that if you are someone who likes to communicate and talk then you can even join the TAB community. The college has a big library that is even virtually available to us. And the classrooms are comfortable as well, with projectors and all such equipment ready since we have MS classes as well conducted by professors from University at Buffalo. Though the usual time Professors from University at Buffalo used to visit India during a pandemic situation all the classes were conducted online.

Interview Experience

4.5

I faced PI and there was no GD. I was interviewed by an economics professor and the questions asked varied from basic introduction to future expectations. Why are you willing to join the course and what is your current knowledge about the course. You need to be aware of what's happening in the world (basic current affairs). I prepared for the interview by learning about myself and making sure I have a well-prepared introduction. Then I was prepared with basic questions such as Why MBA after engineering and so on. So, the idea is to be prepared with all the possible questions and try to answer them yourself and you will sail the PI. In the end, remember your interest matters the most.

Admission:

I took the CAT examination and based on my CAT score I made an application for admission in this college. Interview and short round of test was conducted after qualifying that I was granted the admission in the PGPM program. I was looking to get into the IIMs but since my CAT score was not that much so I settle for this one as it is also very popular college in Bengaluru.
