Remarks
The entrance exam for admission was MH-CET. It is conducted but the government of Maharashtra. The admission process starts with a written MCQ-based exam for the students with PCM. After the exam, there are three CAP rounds where you have to choose your preference of colleges. Then after the cutoff is declared, you are allotted the college from the list of your choosing, if you wish to go to a better college you can bet your chances for the other CAP rounds.
Course Curriculum Overview
I personally chose this course because I was intrigued with the wonders happening around the world in the civil industry. The faculty-student ratio for the department is 1:20. The faculties are well qualified for their jobs. They tend to get along with the latest teaching methods, including using technologies and getting students to interact with the on-ground scenario and real-life industry experience. The term exams were a little late for us because of the university's decision to change the exam pattern during the covid, the university wanted to make sure that the students does not come in harm's way.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is a mandate for all the students who are part of the course. The top sites for the internship in Civil were the Mumbai metro Project, Pune Metro Project, The CPWRS, and other locally present builders and Contractors.
Placement Experience
The college provides campus placements to all the students eligible for criteria laid out by the recruiting company. The students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. The top recruiters for the students are Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Adani, Tata Steel, etc. The highest package offered to any student in Core Civil Department is 6Lpa with an average of 3.5LPA for other students in the same branch. Around 70% of students are placed in various companies while the rest of the students plan to pursue higher studies. My Plan after the degree is to go for higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The fees are fixed for all the years of graduation under the same course pattern. There are a few scholarships that are given to the students by the government of Maharashtra on the merit and financial condition of the student. One of the scholarship programme is Rajarshri Shahu Maharaj Scholarship.
Campus Life
There are various fests that are conducted by the students under the college and the student chapters of the respective departments. If we consider the college we have Sanskriti the Annual cultural fest, the Zion which is the Technical fest, Astronomy Club, and the sports fest called Parakram. Apart from that, the department of civil engineering has various students chapter like the American Society of Civil Engineering(ASCE), Civil Engineering Students Association( CESA), IGS( International Geotechnical Society), and the Antarang which keep hosting various events at a certain duration. Recently the students of the ASCE hosted a National level Student Symposium for the year 2022. The classrooms are equipped with the state of art technologies and equipment. The library has an ample amount of books and journals for the students to refer to. The only estrangement is the unavailability of a huge campus which could have various grounds, courts for sports and canteen.
