Remarks
The admission process of KIET happens every month of July and August but due to pandemic sessions starting late. Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE) scores a state-level engineering entrance test conducted by AKTU are required for the KIET admission process. Reservations are given only to that student who belong to Uttar Pradesh.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, I choose computer science course because I am interested in coding and software development. The faculty at the KIET is highly experienced and consists of 380+ well-qualified members. They guide students through their experiences. The faculty members are helpful and supportive and have good knowledge of the subject they teach.
Internships Opportunities
Students can go for internships whenever they feel they are ready. Companies like- Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, and IBM come in 3rd year for internships and they generally provide a stipend of around 20k-25k in the case of the service-based company while it goes a lot higher for the product-based company which is generally around 70k-85k for each month of training.
Placement Experience
The placements start from the 6th semester, students become eligible for the campus placements. Big companies service-based as well as product-based visits our college like - Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, IBM, Infosys, etc. The service-based company provides a stipend of around 15k-20k each month while it goes a little high for a product-based company which is around 65k-75k for each month.
Fees and Financial Aid
In my department, the yearly course fees are around 1,20,000 along with 90,000 for an opting hostel. They are many private and government colleges for boys as well as girls. Also whenever in need, the college administration is ready to help always. The students who score above 85% get cash prizes. So you have a reason to perform well in the exams.
Campus Life
The college's tech fest is known as "INNOTECH" which is mostly conducted in November or December and is an important event for techies. Other cultural fests are "EPOQUE" and "PPASTUTI" which are conducted in May. The college supports many sports like- cricket, badminton, volleyball, basketball, etc. KIET pays equal attention to sports and studies.
Hostel Facilities
KIET has hostels for all 4 years of students. In it, we are having all the basic amenities like a dustbin, mirror, Almira, etc. Rooms are big enough to accommodate around 3-4 students. The hostel's mss food is decent and we are given sweets four times a week. The hostel registration process was done online and hostels were allowed based on how far a given student lives away from his home.
Interview Experience
No, I didn't face any Interview or Group Discussion Round as I have got admission on basis of UPSEE rank but those who go for the direct admission have to go through Interview and Group Discussion, as well as their 12th percentage, is considered. I took a crash course the preparation for this exam as it doesn't need more than 3 months to prepare well if you have studied topics well in your school.
